HERMIE! - 2 weeks from chop

Ladies and Gents,

I am about 2 weeks from chop on a DIY Aero grow. I have 3 NL's and it appears one of them hermied. I can see seeds on it, I chopped a lower bud to be sure and low and behold seeds. The other 2 in seem normal though.

The question is this, should I chop the hermied one now and take what I get or can I safely leave it to finish and harvest the seeds?

Any advice here would be great. Thanks in advance.

srry to hear about the hermi problem
few things can be done but 1st ask your self a few questions
what caused the plant to hermi ???
are they from seed or clone??
was the plant in bad lighting ??
did the plant fall over and bend at netpot level??
is there any small red led light from say power strip a/c fan or anything else on in flower during lights out??
is flower chamber dark when lights out and your sitting inside it closed up??
are you sure thats the only plant hermied have you fully inspected all plants??
are the seed white or brown colored {ie} mature seed??
if the seed are brown and colored the seed is mature and your hermi problem most likely poped up 2-3wks into flower. on a run that is other wise dialed in a seed run if your gonna see hermis it'll be w/in 1st 2-3wks of flower. some times if a plant will hermi it'll happen the last 2-3 wks unless your way past harvest time then most plants will throw a nanner or 2 . this is so the plant will live again in the spring my experince with hermis it's in the begining of flower mostly 2-3 wks in they show. alot of times your can remove the balls and they wont grow back i'll do this if the plant has just a few nanners then i watch that certin plant untill chop it's inspected every inch every watering.
if the plants are from seed it's possible that certin plant is a differant pheno then the others requiring lighter feeding.

this plant is Bio Desiel = sour desiel [fm] x deep chunk [m]
it threw 5 balls not nanners 18 days into flower i removed them and none grew back. another plant of same cross was just full it was culled

even with proven genitics it's allways good when growing from seed to watch the plants for hermi traits. they'll show right at the junction of the main stem and branch by the preflower in the begining of flower. sometimes they hide behind the nug, later in flower they'll throw nanners right from the bud and unless it's on a side not seen when lookn in they stick out real good against the buds color.

2 weeks is not long to wait and honestly alot of damage is already done. Having said that I promise you the seeded bud will still smoke up nice. I personally would let them go or just chop the hermie and smoke it while you wait for the other two.

the odd thing with this is that there are 3 plants in the tent and only one has seeds. The other 2 look killer. The other odd thing is that I don't really see any male traits. I can't for the life of me figure out how this one plant would have gotten to any pollen. I only had 1 male in my grow and once I saw tiny sacs with a magnifying glass I chopped him.

Is this even possible? I am not sure what I should be looking to fix. The PH did get out of whack a few weeks back for a few days and the plant is much different looking than the other 2. It is taller and more tree-like where as the other 2 are shorter and bushier.

theres your answer most likely buddy PH out of range for Aero grow, Aero growing can and dose produce most excellent when properly dialed in with this system you have to stay on top of things. the 1 plant that hermied was a diff pheno then other 2 and couldnt take the wacked PH like the other plants could. keep the PH and everything else in the Aero grow in check and you shouldnt have any problems.

sounds like your ventilation is very good like mine is it didnt allow any pollen from the 1 plant to spread most likely. now when you chop wash the whole inside of flower chamber down everything floor included. and you shouldnt have any problems with stray pollen effecting the next run if theres any pollen on something like ducting walls aero unit floor and lights hoods.

And ya, my ventilation is really good.. sucks the sides of the tent in and that plant is right under the intake.

personally i would inspect the plant closely remove any nanners found if any and allow to finish. being under the intake shouldnt cause problems but PH outta wack on areo yes would cause problems on some plants.

DREGS it sounds like the extractor is taking most the pollen away if the hermie is under it but....even though i do pray not.....i think you'll find the other plants will prob have been pollinated at some level. It will still smoke like great pot should though so i wouldn't freak yourself out about it,its all a learning curve no matter how experienced you are.

thanks again guys... found a few seeds on other plants, not nearly as bad as that one plant. I will be sure to consume them with EXTREME prejudice.

Thats how i felt when my uk cheese hermied on my 3rd grow,i was absolutely devastated,i kept taking the nanners and balls off whenever i could see em and kept it lightly misted so the pollen wouldn't find it easy to get airbourne but it still pollinated my shiva skunk,if i'd have only found this site back then i would have kept some seeds and grown it out(i knew not alot about cross pollination)......i could have had my very own cross breed.....damn i wish i knew then what i know now...

Smoke was still quite awesome despite the seeds.....

i got one that has full hard seeds and i look at my ladies all the time but she looks tasty i think it just poped a few no pollen i can find

ya, Aero is a decent way to grow, but my next run is all hempy and the ladies seem to be loving it. Hempy with Lucas that is.

And ya, even the quick dried stuff we smoked was better than any mids around here. Seeds or no seeds.
