reusing the main stems for 2nd crop

Hi all, Im just wondering can you reuse the harvested main stems and complete roots for a second crop or mother plants.
I have read in a grow book you can use the leftover of the the main stem after the first crop and leave some leaves on the remaining stems and root in the pot, blast it with nitrogen and 18/6 lights and the plant will grow new leaves and start vegging again. use it as a mother plant or 2nd crop

Can you all tell me if this is true? has anyone done it? anything written on this ? and what to do as well will be great. Cheers

any apologies if I didnt explain this properly but yea I try with my best ability to do so.
So wen you harvest just cut off all the buds but leave the main stems and root in the pot to reuse for a second harvest or a mother plant

trim roots, re-pot, add mycorrhizae to root zone. keep 3-4 branches/shoots w/ flowers on them. may help.

enjoy your garden!

Actually, that's a rhetorical question ;>}
I just noticed this tiny bud growing at the base of my 6.5 ft plant and thought I would share it.

Like mistress said, the key is trimming the roots and repotting. I use a serrated bread knife to saw off the bottom and four sides of the rootball to match the top. Pop it back under long day. Works every time, even with fast finishing strains.

What's the best way to get mycorrhizae, other than hydro shop? Any naturally occurring, or from big box stores? i try to avoid hydro shops.

i did not add nutes cause i grow organic, i also did not trim roots.
and am curious now as to why people think they must be trimmed ?
this is my first real try and perhaps i just got lucky ??

"nurseries usually have myco and rhizo.

if dont want to go to nurseries, soil moist is available w/ myco @ most general stores. "
Hey, thanks! I don't mind nurseries, just don't like getting bent over at the cash register. I found SoilMoist at Ace for $5. reasonable.
