400w hps VS 8bulb 48' T5

I already have a 8 bulb 4 foot T5 system and I know 6500w for veg and 3500w for flower
but do you think a 400 watt hps would produce a lot more vs the T5 system or would it be relatively minimal?

thanks

And there is less work with the HPS, keeping the canopy even and close to your cfl's involves more work.

I have a 400w HID that I use for flower and a 4-bulb T5 that I use for veg. Under normal circumstances there would be a significant difference in yields between the T5 and a 400w HID. This said, if you grew some stubby, high yielding plants, and trained them the differences would be a lot smaller (or non-existant).

As far as I'm concerned T5s are the equal of MH/CMH for veg, but in veg the plants are shorter so the lack of light intensity of the T5s isn't a huge factor.
