Whats Your Favorite Documentaries?

I'd like to add in reference to Cocaine Cowboys that Cocaine Cowboys 2 was also a captivating story. I thought it was produced poorly, and didn't care for the comic book action sequences but the story itself is captivating.

So did anybody care for "First Contact?" Nobody mentioned it.

"Fishing with John" was a favorite. Particularly the 2 part (I think) episode with Dennis Hopper searching for the giant squid in Thailand. I saw this late night on LSD one night and at least one point Hopper was frying balls too for sure. Hopper is way out there man, ya gotta love him - don't you fuggin look at me! Worth watching. Oops, watched it again, maybe it was just me who was frying balls

Then there's this other I would love to get ahold of and if anybody can help I'd be much obliged. Basically it was like 6 dudes hunting wild pigs in S.America I think. Anyway they are all packin fully automatic weapons - tough guys. They were out all day and then back at camp they're all posing for pics etc with a few pigs they shot and patting themselves on the back n shit. Then there is a rustling in the bush getting louder and louder. All of a sudden a full-on army of wild pigs attacks their ass. I mean literally hundreds of pigs man. These dudes open up on them with their auto's, just slaughtering oodles and oodles of pigs. There ends up being this giant mountain of pigs there, pigs are launching through the air off their dead pig pile and taking chunks out of these dudes shoulders etc, killed most of the guys. At the end there is just like two guys I think bloodied up but living and this friggen huge pile of dead pigs. Totally unreal, anybody see this? What's it called? - Link me?

5 motherfucking stars. Totally put the issue of the drug war and everything that involves in plain black and white. Amazing movie, I don't do the whole torrent thing but I know someone on here could have that shit up in 5 seconds. AMAZING.

I had heard about the CIA trafficking cocaine, but never knew the whole story. It's in this movie. This documentary makes me want to burn the white house down to the fucking ground. America needs to die, srsly guiz.

great doc! I've seen it a few times. I got my buddy to watch it today. I seriously think it was the first time he'd heard anything about the cia's involvement!?!? He was like no way.... are you serious!! I was cracking up. He's a little slow though. The cannabis part of the doc was done really well I thought. Its one of my favs too.

Yes, it seems that the Taliban was blocking opium production in Afghanistan, until the US arrived. "Last White Hope" touches on this as well.

This is actually pure legend, total brainwashing. Taleban have never ever blocked opium & heroin production in Afghanistan, NEVER ! They were making way too much money from taxing it, to really even try to get rid of it.
All they did was toolaunch a small campaign were they brought down a few fields & laboratories and show that to UN & US officials, so they could write that bullshit in their yearly reports so everyone was be happy & satisfied that way. But it never brought down production to the point it is officialy claimed (supposedly from 3300 tons down to 185 tons... sure, and my bum is made of chicken breast !)

If memory serves me, when Taleban reached power opium production was around 2000 tons a year, and was more than 4000 tons during the last year of their reign.
I went above 6100tons in 2006, 8200 tons in 2007 and 7700 tons in 2008. THe coalition sure did a good job, waaayyy better than taleban !

Ok not to hate on Acapulco Gold but 70% of the movie is about retards in the midwest harvesting hemp leaves. The other 30% is when a guy finally goes to mexico for 100 kilos of Acapulco Gold.

I would rate it 3/10.

Cocaine Cowboys on the other hand is a lot more in depth about smuggling and using safehouses and whatnot.

Yea i got a good laugh out of that it was pretty funny. They were trying to make hemp stronger by putting it in dry ice and talk about people burying it underground until it rots. LOL!

You guys are gonna laugh comming from me..."Winged Migration"...of course, a story about some Canada geese being raised by a young girl and following thier flight south. Great photogrphy some of the best images of birds in flight shot from an ultra light airplane. OK...go ahead and laugh..then watch it..DD
