Well I am about to buy A CAP XGC-1 Controller.
The question I have is do any members have suggestions about different units, or problems to report with this unit. I have gotten lazy and no longer want to have 4 timers, thermostat,Co2 controller. So I am open for ideas or suggestions I will be ordering on the 14 so Ill take any comments before.

CAP is way better then sentinel for full out controllers. all i can say is good choice. Hope you find one for a good price.

I use some CAP products myself and have found some to be better than others but mostly reliable.

The thing is with that all in one unit if something fails and it needs to be sent back for repair or replacement, it's all in one. All of your grow room controls are gone for at least a week.

With seperate components if something fails, its just one item that needs to be fixed and your not S.O.L.:2cents:

I agree with CalJim, their controllers seem to be pretty good (I have used an AIR-4 for over 5 years now, no issues at all) but others have had problems with their CO2 burners and such. I hate putting all my eggs in one basket so I use separate timers and such for most of my setup, just in case.

The cost of the unit is 725 new and I have found it for 600 used. I am buying it new. The main reason for the all in one is the fuzzy logic CO2 controller with built in infrared sniffer. I was looking for standalone CO2 controllers and they run 400 on their own. I figure in the event of a break down I can revert to manual timers, thermostats, and hand controlling the CO2.

I'd also like to hear from others on this one vs the sentinel bc I plan on buying a controller this fall and sealed room oh yay:)!

I currently own a CAP CGC-1............I can say it is rock solid reliable and have never had a problem with it in over a year. It is the same as the X - the fuzzy logic for C02. Hope you enjoy that X Jr.

Cons: I have been reading about the XGC because I was not real familiar with it ...

One thing that worries me is that it shuts off co2 when running exhaust or ac and if my room is truly sealed why would I want my co2 to shut off? I mean I could understand this if the room was not sealed or half ass sealed...

And doesn't seem to be a remote sensor if I'm not mistaken...

Pros: It controls 2 iights and 2 hydro timers (recycle) and you can expand it with modules which sentinel doesn't (does sentinel expland what is the rs 232 shit?)

Opm thanks for that I was tossing a coin over the two systems but I figure the extra 300 incorporates the Co2 sniffer and its all in on unit. I may still buy the CGc and the extra Co2 module I really can't decide.
