WTF is a "cob"?

Just saw a picture of what looked like a sage incense roll, but it was with weed. It was called a "cob", wtf is this, how do you roll it? I want to smoke one on my b-day.

That's probably imported weed from Malawi. As far as I know it is traditionnal overthere to back ganja into small bundles which are wrapped in Banana leaves, called "cob".
My birthday is not far away, would indeed be nice to give a try to such a treat in such day ! yum!

Haha I thought you were going to be talking about a COB as in a CO2 Bomb. That is when you get a co2 cartridge and fill it full of black powder then put a fuse in.

I guess it's a way of storing/curing. You smoke only the cannabis part (the inside) of the cob, not the leaves that are wrapped around it.

usually people want their cob smoked on their birthday,not the other way around, jk i cant beieve anybody didnt reem ya on that one, have a good birthday, i think they use cobs cause they dont have enough jars , peace

It's their way of curing. The wrapped bud is buried to cure. You'd think it would just mold up.
Someone here was going to do a tutorial on it but don't know if that happened.
Always been intrigued w/ the process.

How does quality compare to jar cured buds?

Well the smoke is super psychedelic and "dense". Partly because they are made of african sativas, and partly because of the curing method I guess.

burying it is supposed to make the cure a lot better than in jars.
-constant temps in the ground (warmer ground better?)
-lack of oxygen to break down thc and chemicals
-chlorophyll still cures out

the famed African Black was supposed to be buried to cure, just for reference.
