ok so i live on a ranch with lots of animals
mainly chickens and goats.. do they eat cannibis?:yoinks:
especially when they in the early stages like sprouting?
I really don't wanna put chicken wire around it I just don't want it to look conspicous.
If they do is there any way i can keep them away without havin a HUGE fence around my plants?

In a city I used to live in they brought goats in to mow the parks instead of mowing, it was their "green alternative". Those goats ate the grass all the way to the dirt, I wouldn't put anything you would miss anywhere NEAR a goat.
Maybe try a small-wired electric fence, I think they sell the wire, set-up and everything at home improvement stores for +/-$100, and that wouldn't look like anything out of the ordinary on a ranch

They use goats to wipe out blackberry bushes in the Pacific Northwest because goats are better at wiping out these invasive plants than using chemicals.

Seriously.

Think of it like this: goats are a mammal version of locusts

Man, you will have problems with both of those species of animals. The chickens will scratch up and eat your baby plants and the goats will just eat them to the ground. A fence is going to be your only solution and it better be a good one to keep the goats out.

THe best thing to do would be to grow way away from where the animals are kept or are allowed to graze.

They will annihilate cannabis, they love any leafy, weedy type plants. As a matter of fact, I feed my goats all of my trimmings and 7 of them will eat an entire pile (as large as a hay bale), stems and all in one day, not counting their grazing and grain.

If you have goats, then you know that they're escape artist and will get out of Alcatraz if they're hungry. Better get a super tall fence and as strong as hell. They will eyeball your girls every single day and will suck it down at any given chance.

Horses, cattle, deer, rodents, rabbits - just about any herbivore will enjoy your cannabis at consumption rates that will boggle your mind.

Then there's thrips, mites, white flies, ants and of course the obligatory thief from the local high school. And let's not forget the tweakers and street people looking for an easy score.

Best wishes!

the Lion is going Guerrilla...

That thing looks like it came straight out of my nightmares dude. These pictures of chickens and goats are cracking me up. Like the chickens for instance, what are they trying to accomplish?

But yeah, electric fence was a good suggestion.

Sorry man...
Some suggestions:
All of my successful outdoor grows started in pots with the plants being semi-mature enough to weather ants and such BEFORE being put into the ground.
On your farm:
Perhaps you should consider a test grow (without legal concerns) to fully understand the challenges in your particular environment. Maybe plant some tomato plants to test the "grounds".

IMHO:You will need to make a fence and utilize some sort of natural barrier. By "natural barrier" I mean... Did you notice there are some plants in the picture I posted even the F'in goat won't eat? There are plants even goats stay away from... In addition, did you see his eyes? He cant possibly see more than five feet!lol
Edit: Mr Coot, Your forgot Cutworms. (as in "wth cut my babies flush with the ground?") ;)
