i have a slight prob id like to see if any one can help me with please.

Ok, so on my flowering plants it seems that as normal some of the leafs are turning yellow like usual, BUT they also have lil brown spots on the yellowing leafs, and im wondering is this normal?

im also not thinking that its a ph problem cause i have a oakton ph300 tster, and its on the money trust me i have 2 back ups a champ, general hydro test solution, ohh and also a milwaulkee digital tester as well, and they all suck, but are around what my oakton says the ph is soo, they tell me that the oakton pher is fine tuned, ya know!!!

thanks for the help guys.

If you know your water source contains calcium and the PH is correct, then it's most likely either a fungi or bacteria infection, most likely the later. The spots will be rust colored surround with yellow or just plain rust spots if they're small and just started. It's often misdiagnosed as a calcium deficiency.

Avoid foliar feeding as moisture on the foliage favors infection and spread of the disease. Increase air movement and spray with a fungicide.

If you can see bugs then you MUST treat them asap. If the plant has other problemms you wont get very far without treating the problem you already know you have.

It sounds like a fungus gnat problem. There are several products that will take care of them such as SM-90. If not treated, they will continue to eat away at your roots and cause your plant to suffer.
Also if you put potato slices on top of your soil they will lay their eggs there and you can remove them easier.

Heres a picture of one of my plants from last year. This is a bacteria infection, not a deficiency.

Overwatering will also attract gnats as they like humid environments so cutting back on the waterings may help to reduce or eliminate them. Fungus gnats in small quantities are manageable and may cause little to no damage to the plants but in high numbers they can cause problems. :dueling:

I once had such a severe infestation that insecticide was the only option and within 2 weeks the plants were back on schedule. Even then there were still a few fungus gnats lingering throughout the grow but in such small numbers that they were harmless.
After that grow I bombed my growroom with pyrethrum and have never had another pest in the room since.

We recently treated a problem with some sort of small beetle.....a hard shelled little 1/4 inch sized bugs and tred my favorite bug spray called Don't Bug Me (Fox Farms) but the problem remained in the soil causing my plants poor health. My hydro guy; who is excellent, recommended a product called Bug Buster-o. I made a soil drench with it at the correct ph and watered them both liberally with it. End of problem.

Good luck.
