Hey all,
Let me start off start off saying that I successfully run eye hortilux lamps with 240v 600w lumateks.
The lamps seem to burn/fire great and I have had no relability or performance issues thus far.
I have noticed that the lamps seems to wear quickly and even after 2-3 flowering cycles (4-6 months) the lamps appear tinted (not clear at all) and I'm guessing have lost their output power (some hortiluxes even appear blue). This is typically when I change the lamps anyways so its never bothered me.
I've considered asking the shop for replacements, but the lamps still ignite/burn so I imagine the warranty claim would be denied...nor would I feel "right" about it considering the 3 successful harvest pulled under it.
To my question..
How are bulb manufacturers handling "prematurely wore out bulbs" caused by electronic ballasts and the more output they are putting to the lamps?
Newer Lumateks are now coming with dimmer switch capable of turning them "up" to 110% (super lumens they are calling it)..
I can only imagine that hortilux and other lamp manufacturers are going to start getting more and more returns - forcing them to change their warranty policy or start denying claims all together.
Are there any lamps out specific to electronic ballasts yet? I've heard rumors..but found no real info yet.
