imo, Hopey McChange did the smart thing with this photo-op. He made sure both parties were well vetted and the press kept at a good distance away. I'd be surprised if they talked about anything important at all. IMO the only racism here is a Black Professor profiling a white cop who (surprise!) went on a power trip after his mother was insulted.
