cleaning grow trays

I just bought a couple used, black growing trays, but there is dried up gunk/nutes all over. I tried to clean it all with water and a scouring pad but once it dries it appears that I'm gonna need a different method. Anybody have any suggestions to make my life easier?

White Vinegar will help dissolve the residual nutes. But depending on how dirty they are you can also use bleach. I wouldn't use both at the same time though! But make sure you rinse and rinse with lots of H2O!

I've been using "Bio Clean Green" .. I dilute it 3 to 1, mist on , wait a couple of minutes scrub and rinse. It took care of a really neglected flood table in short order, It's 'non toxic' so a quick rinse is more than enough.
The downside is it is expensive, vinegar and bleach work great they just takes more elbow and rinsing.

HOT vinegar will work faster than cold. Citric acid in solution will do in a pinch (we have pounds of it, use it for bath bombs). Bleach or ozone treat it once it's clean to kill anything residual on it.

Green porous scrubbies for the win.
