Can an ebb n grow/ Multiflow controller bucket be placed ABOVE the res to save space?

I have the setup in my closet i want to place the controller bucket above the 55 gal res on a shelf to free up floor space, is this advisable?

Your plants need to be on the same level as the controller bucket.. its how the system works.

Yea, if you raise the level of the controller at all you're going to have one hell of a mess.
