I'm jealous bro! I want a second tent for veg! haha

That's  exactly what I am going to do:

Use the DarkRoom DR60 for holding a mother plant or growing a small number of plants. A 2' x 2' plant tray fits perfectly. Ideal for either a 2-foot T-5 HO Fluorescent or a 250W to 400W HID light system.

Keeps your growroom light-tight. Dual-Sock Port locations:
3 (5") port intake / exhaust ports
2 (2.75") cord / tubing ports

3 intake windows

Other Dark Room advantages:
Solid aluminum frame for stability - supports 65 lbs on the roof cross members
Lined with Highly Reflective Material for improved lighting performance
Thermal protection retains 97% of all radiant heat for superior insulation
100% light-proof to prevent light from escaping or entering during light cycles
Movable upper cross members for easy lighting / accessory adjustment
Non-Toxic! - no light, heat or nutrient reactions to harm your plants!
Flooring, interior AND exterior walls are washable to prevent odor buildup
Durable, light-proof zippers

DR60 Dimensions:
Assembled - 24" wide x 24" deep x 55.2" tall
Weight - 16 lbs.
Sensei (先生) don't get jealous

MH or HPS?

MH or HPS?

I just received my 600 watt HPS light and I was wondering whether I should use the HPS or MH light?

I have three autoflowering plants ( 2 Lowryder#2 + 1 BlueRyder) that are four weeks in their grow and two Northern Lights that are week old seedlings.

The lowryders were proof of concept for me and I sure their yield will be small. The Northern Lights were to provide me with mother material/clones and smokes :joint: to carry my bro and I to my next harvest.

I'm thinking of keeping the MH until harvest of lowryders. Then switch to 12/12 for the NL with MH light for 2 weeks and then switch to the HPS 'til harvest.

What do you think?

Good setup in the tent. I do have a suggestion for the little NL plants though. Although they were getting too much light sitting directly under the 600 MH they still need some close up direct light. Just of a lower power. If you could get a double bulb 24" floro light with just some daylight blue color bulbs and keep it about 4" above the plants they would do so much better and give you some nice bushes as they grow. Otherwise they are going to get real long and lanky sittting down there reaching for the light while they vegg.
Do you have another area or closet that you could use for just the babies? That is usually the best way.

Thanks bro,

as soon as I get the DR60 up I'll put the NL in with fluoros from the IKEA CAB.

Should mix the red and blue fluoros one to one ratio?

I really want one - you should check out the 110w PLL 2ft dual light fluro from HTG. Has 10,000 lumens!!
Would be really perfect in the DR60. :D

No, just the blue for vegging. For little babies I have always just used the "cool" color floros. They really seem to thrive under that. The "warm" colors keep them alive, but they grow slower in my experience.

July28th_NL DAY 9 in DR60 under CFLs

@ Mist growMEDS Bon.G.Loder and Vegan

Thanks fellow growers for your suggestions.

I felt the urgency to put the NL under fluoros so I setup the DR60 (real easy assembly) and got rid of the Ikea cab.

Unfortunately, ventilation has rear its ugly head or lack thereof. I put the girls under three daylight fluoros for now and a measly fan to circulate the air.

Have to figure out how to run ducting from the air conditioner to the DR60 and exhaust it. For now I've opened the bottom vents and left the zipper on top open a bit to exhaust hot air. Also need another thermometer to monitor temps.

Hope they don't get to hot in the DR60.

Oh yea, those plants are going to love those lights. They shouldn't get too hot in the tent with way you opened the vents to draft the hot air up and out.
Can't wait to see them grow up. I really liked growing NL when I did it years ago.

:) Elegant lookin' vanity light bar! I like it. Who says your cana't grow w/ style!

Man you're funny:laughing:

I had time to think the ventilation problem. Let me illustrate what I propose to do. All suggestions will be welcomed:1help:

air conditioner==>4" ducting to bottom of DR60==>circulation fan in DR60==> Exhaust from top of DR60 using 4"to6" reducer==>6" ducting to bottom of DR100==>6" in-line fan==> circulation fans in DR100==>exhaust from DR100 using Carbon filter attached to 6"(424cfm) fan to vent outside tent.
or

air conditioner==>6" ducting to bottom of DR60 using 6"to4" reducer==>circulation fan in DR60==> Exhaust from top of DR60 using 4"to6" reducer==>6" ducting to bottom of DR100==>6" in-line fan==> circulation fans in DR100==>exhaust from DR100 using Carbon filter attached to 6"(424cfm) fan to vent outside tent.
N.B.

I maybe able to stuff the 6" ducting inside the vents of the DR60, thus eliminating the reducers.
until next time:joint:

Looks great man. You have improved your techniques greatly. Good luck with the NL. She's been on my wish list for some time.

I have seen 6" venting in the 4" inlet/outlets. Looks very tight but didn't look to rip or anything like that.
I'm not too sure about using the exhaust air from dr60 into the intake of dr100 though. Hopefully somebody else chimes in.

I know I had my doubts too.:yeahthats

Its just that the air conditioners' outlet is limited it in size.:fsu:
I have two 6" ducts squeezed in . One for the CoolTube and the other to the bottom of the DR100
perhaps only an exhaust fan will be needed

Tonight I'll transfer the thermometer to the DR60 to gauge temps inside

You'll know after you see what the temps are like - what are the ambient temps in the room?
Also really no need to scrub the exhaust air out of the veg tent

Just installed thermometer in DR60 and temps were in the high 80's (>86).:yoinks::yoinks: With just 3 CFLs!

I temporary setup the 6" (424cfm) fan to exhaust from the bottom of tent and temps dropped to 81-82degrees. This will do until this weekend.

Perhaps if I install the 4" (172cfm) w/o filter in the DR60 that will be enough!? Will see.

Due to time constraints I am going to install the 600watt hps bulb in the DR100 tent tonight. Can' do it any other time.

July29th LR#2 Day 39_ BlueRyder Day 34

The girls felt light so I decided its time to water. Gave about a gallon total of pre-mixed water with Blackstrap Molasses.

Did notice some browning of lower leaves on the two Lowryders.

Is this something to be concern? Anyone?:1help:
