Revival of the Ultimate Sativa GROW Thread

I have not had the time to read through this entire thread yet, but I will be bookmarking this and reading it in the future.

I have 3 different mexican varieties of seeds that I am going to 12/12 from seed when I start back up in august.

One of them had a really minty smell for schwag, didn't remember smoking it we just threw it into brownies (I never personally smoked much schwag by choice in the past) I have 5 of these.

I have 2 different other varieties, they had the distinct 'schwag' smell, one of them had dark purple leaves and the other one was just green.

I'm not really sure if any of it is pure sativa, but its most likely sativa dom.

Up until recently I thought those beans were garbage, but I have realized their true power and I should definitely take advantage of the genetics in my area because not everyone has access to this.

anyone have a round about finshing time on some sativas for me blue dream...lambsbread...trainwreck? and will bush masters finish them earlier?

Have to say something here...

Currently growing The pure sativa: Colombian Gold under 150W T-Neon lights. Height of the cabinet is 70cm. Plant-growspace: 40 cm, so there's a lot of training involved. Now at week 9 of flowering. still 12-16 weeks to go!

Topic and pics are in the Microgrow topic.

Lookin forward to puffin it :D

You're right about your analysis of sativa's high vs. indica's stone.... I wasn't a believer in the whole indica/sativa thing until I started going to dispensaries and knowing exactly what I was getting.

In the days buying from friends, never knowing what you're getting.. I had good days and bad. The bad, I'd blame it on 'weed' and say I need to quit cause I'm becoming a lazy unmotivated loser.

But now, by being able to select and get sativas or indicas.. I'm noticing there is a big difference. I only get sativas now, unless I see a really nice looking purple strain that smells like grape ;)

But now it's like I can control the loser factor. I can smoke all day, and I never feel "loserish"

I LOVE SATIVAS!!! Growin out some Blue Dream now.. straw. cough.. and OG.. (But I do love the smell/taste/look of indicas... and ease of growing)

Great thread, thanks a lot for the info Motaco. I'm looking forward to working with Tom Hill's Haze. The idea of transplanting in flowering around week 4 or 5 seems antithetical to what I've known and done up till now but that seems fitting given my venturing into hazes. :D

can any1 help im currently at week 11 on my sativa the bud sems to dense up more the further away from the light they are. also if i even think of giving them bloom nutes the buds that are closest to the light strech any1 got any tips for keeping the bud tight

yo... this has to be the best thread I've ever come across...

MAD PROPS. If anyone has seen anything like this in the bay area would love to take a peek... jeeeeeezus some of those exotics look nice

The plant is moving out of its stretch and into the budding so its safer to give it more soil. If the plant is now roughly two months old and in a half gallon or so of soil and isn't stretching hardly at all but is putting on good cola growth than you can give it as much more soil to go into as it wants. This is the reason I feel transplanting is superior to using one container. You can restrict them more severely during the stretching phases but when that is over you can give them enough soil to promote good bud growth. When you use one container the time the the plant feels "free" or unrestricted is during the stretch phase, and the time it feels cramped toes is during the budding phase. By transplanting with multiple containers you can reverse that.

Nice!!! Good Info

I read somewhere, in this thread I think, that when pollinated early, a sativa would mature & finish in less time than if kept seed free……do someone noticed /have info about that?

Not in my experience!
In fact, I have just finished a sativa which I pollinated as soon as it started flowering. It still took seven months to finish.

I doubt there is any foundation to the idea that a seeded plant would mature earlier, there is no reason I know of to believe that.

thanx for answering Gert Lush........DAW! I thought that when the seeds are done & mature, the plant will soon be starting her "death process" (senecsence?).....do someone have another opinion on that question?
