Hello, On A Seed Site They Have Seeds From 2003. How Viable Do You Think They Could Be? I Know It Depends How They Were Taken Care Of. What Info Here Is The Only Info Available. Thank You
Just soak using some Superthrive or liquid seaweed for 24 hours to give them the best chance, I heard of people getting good results from old seeds using molasses to soak them in, something about replacing carb's lost in the aging process?, check it out!
1-4 yrs, 80 -100%
4-5 yrs, 50-80%
6-8 yrs, 25-50% - growth problems show up
Over 8- 10% or less, 8 out of 10 germs will have deformities and growth problems.
IN 2008, A buddy shared some seeds with me that he had kept in the freezer since 1996. We each had approx, 150 seeds. 16 of the seeds sprouted which resulted in 5 normal growing plants. 3 males and 2 female. He wound up with 7 plants and 2 females.
I would be hesitant to ever buy a seed that was 5 years oldunless they gave more seeds. I think only 10 seeds at that age is iffy for getting a female.
Hello DocLeaf ,
I Would Kill To Get Some Oaxacan Seeds. In The Late '60s We Started Getting Oaxacan Flower Tops. The High Is Unmatched Even Today IMO! Picture This The Odor Is What A Freshly Cut Otange Would Taste Like! The Buds Size Matched Or Bigger Than Big Bud! It Became So Popular In Our Group We Pooled Our Money & Drove To Oaxaca. After Being There 2 Days We Befriended A Young Boy Who Took Us To The Field & Introduced To His Dad!! The 1 Feild We Walked Through Was At Least 50 Yards Square. Wirh The Help Of Miguel He Talked His Dad Into Selling Us Some, 13 Kilos! His Dad Really Liked Us, He Gave Us His Signature & Directions To Michoaxcan. Bought 3 Kilos. There's More To This Story At A LaterDate.
Thank You
