I love the show too, but would really like to give a great big Thank You to Allen Ball the creator of TB (Six Feet under and American Beauty). TB has much less weed presence but Mr. Ball has a great artistic style and he reminds us that weed is just a normal part of many peoples lives.

Peace :joint:

PS Barry the bell boy will be back

sookie is going to somehow get involved with the light of day place, and she'll find out jason is there.

the dallas vamps wanna go to war with light of day, and they're already prepared.

i cant WAIT to see what happens next episode, especially with that, the situation with mary ann/tara, and sam and that new girl who's infected.

alright....where do i start with this weeks episode.

Did any of you notice Jason and the nazi salute? What about the "dick measuring contest" between Jason and the Rev? (rpg vs .357) None of this light of day stuff bodes well for anyone...and while im on the L.O.D.I., am i the only one that has a feeling that Barry the bellboy is the institutes insider?? He said something that really made me think about it, i believe it was when he and Sookie were talking about controlling the voices in his head. He said, "theres enough people in my brain as it is".

This episode really had a family feel to it also. We found out that Godric was the one who made Eric and then there was the re-emergence of the woman that made Bill. It seems to me that Bill is gonna have his hands full with regards to taking care of Sookie and Jessica. Speaking of Jessica, how sickly cute was the scene between Hoyt and her?? I know it made me want to vomit a bit. As for Sookie...she went from innocent to nympho in only a season and a half. Case in point:

Bill: Id be satisfied just to hold you.
Sookie: Well, that wouldnt satisfy me at all (or something along those lines)

That brings me to the relationship between Daphne and Maryann. I keep guessing wrong when it comes to Maryann's pig. First i thought it was Carl, then i believed it was Daphne...until we found out that shes a deer. Now, im not sure if shifters can one form or many, but we have always seen Sam as a dog. (even in the flashbacks) To me that says that its just the one....who knows, ive been wrong before. The fact that Daphne turned into a deer made the "nice rack" comment that Sam made funny on so many more levels than just the tits and the pool table. Maryann....jeez, ive been speculating about this broad since she showed up. Was it just me, or when Tara and Maryann were talking near the tail end of the episode (in Sookie's kitchen) did Maryann look to be dressed VERY similar to Sookie's grandma?? Usually we see her in pretty contemporary fashion, but here she was dressed in the type of clothing that we saw Sookie's grandma wear in season one. Whats the deal with this chick?? All i know for sure is that she's old. When i say old i mean "around for dirt's first birthday" old. Between the Sheba reference (which my research shows is some old testament shit) and the language she speaks when chanting and doing all of her crazy shit.....it just screams "beginning of civilization" to me.

That "beginning of civilization" thing brings me to my next point. If Godric is ~2000 years old, where did he come from. In looking at his ink, which is tribal in nature, im thinking south pacific or possibly Maori or something along those lines. I know this seems like a bit of a stretch, but let me know what you think.

I know its a long read, but this week raised WAAAAY too many questions for just a short synopsis.

EDIT: i forgot to add that Sookie is gonna go fucking apeshit when she finds out what Jason is up to. The guy that the vampire send her in there with better be able to hold his own, cause as i see it...shit is going down next week. Who knows whats gonna happen if the Fellowship of the Sun finds out who she is and what shes up to.

I have a feeling that Jason's heart truly isn't into the 'war on vampires' game plan, his vampire friend meant a lot to him & he was upset that his bitch gf of his staked his ass, he has mixed feelings for vamps as a whole, you can detect this when others talk about how evil vamps are while Jason seems distracted/lost in thought.

Godric was very cool & I can't wait to see what role he plays in the future when & if he's rescued, very ancient, ghoulishly cool. Maryann has to be behind the attacks on Daphne & Sookie imo & it has nothing to do with werewolfs yet or the vamps would be aware of what seems to be odd claw marks on Sookies back, and don't you think Sam would be slick enough to ask Daphne what's up with the irrigation channels cut into her back?

and fuckin' A!!!!!!! Sarah and that bath routine.......

gotta love Rev's wife taking one for the team! Did you catch the killer "shadow-tit" at about 17 min in?? mmmmm boob silhouette. LOL

I think you may be onto something with the "Jason's heart isnt fully in it", but this militant bullshit that is going on might just be brainwashing him. (like its meant to) The more he's thrust into that "soldier of God" role, the more i think he wont be able to turn back. If anyone has a chance to save his skin.....its gonna be Sookie while shes undercover. (even though she is gonna be super pissed)

I know you're right that Maryann is the one that clawed Daphne, and im pretty sure you're right about the werewolves not being involved. It seems to reason that the vamps would be able to smell them.

I have an eerie feeling that Maryann is controlling Daphne. My theory there is that she came to Bon Temps purely to fuck Sam's life up. Notice how she got real cozy with Tara? (who Sam was truly developing feelings for) Now Sam hooks up with Daphne? I have no doubt that Maryann set all that shit up. Too many coincidences.

The other thing i noticed is that once LaFayette came back, he was nowhere near as colorful as he usually was. No gold pants, no pink bandanna, less gaudy gold.... I know he just went through some shit, but this is LaFayette we're talking about. Hes been the loudest, most outspoken one in the series.

My guess is that they will find Godric "alive". If not, then the shit is most definitely on. I hope they do find him though, his backstory would be priceless.

EDIT: Arlene knows something is up with Daphne

It seems to me that most 'vampire lore' is being held up in the story line here so wouldn't it also be true that if Godric is staked/eliminated that any vampires he made would also perish along with him?

the plot thickens.......

i wouldnt go so far as to say that a vampires progeny would die should the maker die. Take the case of Longshadow for instance. The council would have ordered Bill to create a number of vamps equal to the number of progeny of Longshadow. They only had him turn Jessica. Then theres the chance that Longshadow never made any of his own.

I see what you're getting at there....it would explain Eric's interest in finding Godric. Then again im pretty sure Godric would have made more than one in 2000 years. Is Eric really that special?? Why arent his other "children" as worried as Eric?

The plot thickens (or "clots" maybe??) indeed...

alright, all this talk made me throw this weeks episode on again. It made me notice something else. In Eric's flashback to when he was made, we see Godric (who is obviously not of Nordic descent) wearing Thor's hammer around his neck. When i first watched it i just figured that in 1000 years (cause Eric has established thats how old he is, and he states that Godric is twice his age) a vamp has plenty of time to learn languages. Now that i notice the medallion im beginning to wonder if Godric has more ties to the "Northmen" than i previously thought.

Hmmmmm *scratches beard* We need more info on Godric.

D

Darkstarlive

Godric looks to be of Inca or Myan decent, just my thought.
I think you're on to something with Barry being the L.O.D.I. insider, I think Sookie will run into him at the fellowship of the sun compound.

My wife said she read that True Blood is based on a series of books, anyone know if this true?

Peace..

Didn't start up w/ it til this new season, but my wife and I are hooked.

Yeah, good call on Barry, he'll def be back, and the Lodi call solid. That'd be a good twist w/ Sookie running into/confronting Jason. Can't wait for next week! :D

Godric seemed very impressed with Eric's fighting skills/devotion & made him for that reason, I suppose that it's possible that Godric has only made a few in his day but Eric is the only one of his in play there in Bon Temps. Every time a vampire makes another vampire he/she has just added to the competition for blood, I don't think that many are made for that reason. As mentioned before the potential for plot twists and story lines is unlimited here imo.......

hey Highlighter, Rand, Darkstar, Organic! Welcome to the convo.

Highlighter, if you missed season one, you're really missing out! Time to get to blockbuster and rent that fucker. LOL

Lets keep this going. I feel that we have some killer theories going here.

As far as the books go, ive personally tried to stay away from them for fear of ruining the series.

we see Godric (who is obviously not of Nordic descent) wearing Thor's hammer around his neck.

I can't agree with this assumption. Having spent some time in both Norway and Sweden I know that there are more indigenous folks there that don't resemble the blonde hair/blue eyed... "phenotype". :) Remember that Scandinavia is right up there by the Arctic circle (or within it in areas). When you're at the top of the world, you don't have to migrate too far to have a bit of the world's genetics in ya. Godric could certainly be part Asian, etc.

With that said, I don't even believe in "race". It's all a sociopolitical construct from beginning to end. It's just tribalism attached to modern senses of nationality, etc. What race is a Mexican or a Phillipino or a Russian? Are Ethiopians and Somalians the same race or different? We look at them as pretty much the same. They're absolutely certain that they're different "races". (shrug)

Anyway, I thought the Godric scene was a masterpiece. His passion for Eric's performance on the battlefield, his love for blood, etc. was amazing. Basically, the guy gets off on the purity of violence and destruction. Bill, on the other hand, is the polar opposite. He maintains most of his human conscience and struggles to reject his inner vamp instincts. Maybe Eric is sort of in between but with that Viking mentality leading the way.

What I derive from these examples is that the original human's condition/personality "bleeds" through into the vampire being. Consider the Eddie character. You know that dude was a lonesome couch potatoe as a man. Heck, look at Jessica! (Oh, it's so easy to look at her. When do we get to see her bosoms, anyway?) It's obvious that she's still very much the girl she was before being turned.

Hmmmmm *scratches beard* We need more info on Godric.

Indeed!
