PC Grow With Autoflowers

Aerohead: Do you think an air purifier like the one Smokahontas posted would be sufficient at containing the smell if placed next to the PC?

This setup comes with 26W bulbs, do you think it would be an advantage to run all 8 at 6500k during veg, then switch all 8 to 2400k during flower?

I was also considering upgrading them to 43w, doing so would give out close to 14,000 lumens which I believe is optimal? But heat would be a concern.

Be aware that this case only uses 4 bulbs and not 8... In the movie of this case, there is Mylor on the back inside of the case and that makes it look like there are 8 bulbs.. Actually once you get it you will see that there is no way 8 bulbs could fit and even if they could, I think the heat in such a small space would cause too much heat...

The Seller states that the case will stay at 5 degrees above room temeature and for the most part I think that is correct..
My problem is that where I live, It is getting over 100 during the day and even at night only down in the 80's so my room has been like 81 to 84 and the case was getting up to 86 to 90.. What I did was put a very small hand held fan in the upper part blowing on the bulbs.. Once I did this it brought Temps down to 82 to 85 (2 to 3 degrees above room Temp)

I think when the weather cools down, this case will have no Temp problems..

Anyway I am using this case with just the 4 bulbs and so far it is working great(Look for my post in this section).. And I use 2 of the 2400K and 2 of the 6500K bulbs from day one.. Also remember I think the key for any CLF setups is you want to keep the plants about 2 inches from the bulbs all the time..(See my Pics)

kuroth do those two autos smell in that grow yet? I think i am just going to go with lowryder cross autos. Could 3 fit in this type of environment? Also which lowryder cross is least odorous it is an important factor.

No Smell yet... 3 might fit if you are not using the wire shelf thing to get them close to the lights(Meaning just keeping the pots on the bottom of the case)... These are 2 6 inch pots.. I could not get a third 6 inch pot of this type in there..

On your other questions, I am not sure.. These are LR#2 Fem..

I don't think that air purifier will work very well, actually I have tried the Holmes product and it can barely clear out a dog fart, they don't put out near enough neg ions to keep up with the smell. Unfortunately, the only ones I have had any luck with are the expensive ones such as the Living air type of purifiers, they put out 100 times more ions but you can't be in the room with one cranked all the way up because it's not healthy to be exposed to the ozone levels they produce.

Swapping the bulbs for 43 watts will turn that case into an oven if you don't change all the fans with more powerful ones so I would leave the 23's in there unless you have some stronger fans.

As far as spectrum goes, use the 6500k bulbs for veg, and swap 2 or 3 of those with the 2400k when you flower. Wouldn't hurt to run 2 of each for the whole grow IMO..

Just a curious question from the title, Are you running lowryders, and autos because you are growing in a PC case? Or because that's what you want to grow?

I jumped the gun and ordered autoflowers so now I've got 30 or so of these. I want to grow C99, Bubba Kush, and all the others things I've always dreamed of, but I didn't do my research first so I didn't think it was possible in a PC case.

I'm thinking of getting these seeds started in this PC setup, and use it for the VEG state. And over the course of the next 3 weeks while they are growing I'm going to try and copy & paste your rig without the hydro for flower.

I also have the same setup you gentlemen are rapping about and already finnished a lowryder2 grow.You are not going to get a ton of bud but in the end,when all is said and done,just sit back while smoking some of YOUR bud and relish in the moment I DID IT I am part of the growing community.That my friends is THE WHOLE POINT.PEACE:joint:

i am doing a lowryder cross because i need a short period of time from sprout to harvest like 2-2.5 months tops. i am going to be honest i am going to be doing this in a college dormroom. I am staying in a private housing that is VERY liberal. Students have smoked blunts walking down the hallways. I would never do something so flagrant but i am sure i will smoke a bong or vape in my room. I have my own room, plus a kitchen and bathroom and on the other side of it is the other room that belongs to my roomate. Is this a good idea. I figure he wont even ask what it is. And as long as i dont say a word to anyone i will be fine, which i am willing to do

What do you feel would be a comfortable number to try in a pc this size? I was thinking 2 or 3.

i was going to do 2-3 and i have been going back and forth between the DWC and soil. Either one will be however many plants in the 1 gallon container so I am not sure if the roots of 3 plants would co exist well in the 1 gallon container
