Grr these lil buggers have decided to really pester me this grow. I have been fighting then most of flowering and thought they finAlly left...but this morning at day 61 I found some of their webbing on the tips of a couple branches of my purple flo pheno! I sprayed again with safer soap but Am a bit worried.

What if there are some dead or potentially live mites when I harvest? Would a water cure help or am I just gunna have to put up with mite flavored weed?

you wont taste the mites lol

they wont do much damage now, but you will want to make a descion for future grows. You live with them forever now, or tear down your grow, and bomb them, make sure they are dead before starting again.

When dealing with some fungus gnats last year, I shut down and disinfected my room. Then took about 2 weeks and did it again, before I started back up

I am also suffering from these little ba$tard$ and they are a pain in the ass eating away at your plants and leaving little wholes in the leaves!

It nearly killed my plants as bear in mind i didnt know the symptoms of any of these as this is my 1st grow of all time so didnt know what was going on!

I have just been using something called safespray which you can use all the way through veg and also flower right up until 1 week before the chop!

I have also heard/read that after you chop the bud if you put it in water (or something like that) then this will get rid of the mite and you wont be able to taste any difference of your weed (could be worth getting advice from a more experienced grower about the water thing though lol as i have heard and also read again that if you have spider mite that they can carry on eating your bud even after you shop it again dont know if this is true as this is my 1st grow!)

You cant taste the mites. They will hurt/kill the plants tho. Do you have lady bugs?

I was told to use lady bugs to control the infestation but the only problem is i grow in a spare room in a grow tent which sometimes i leave the door open and if i had a lady bug in there it would fly out as soon as i open the tent door but i have to have the tent door open for the fan!

Not neccesarily, they will stay where the food is.

Blast them with a CO2 fire extinguisher, freeze them ,not the plants... it really does work well for infestations.

If you want to avoid cutting early go to home depot and get a $7 hotshot no pest strip. It should kill them in a day, but it's well known as a strong poison, so avoid prolonged exposure. Spraying only keeps them at bay, so you might as well use plain water to avoid getting residue on your bud.

If you mist the lady bugs down with coke cola/ water they can't fly.

Also if you want to remove some of them( and webs) before you cut gentle use a Shop-Vac over the buds

So much great advice you guys thanks! That is good that I can still dry and cure the buds regularly. I am curious to know more about dunking the buds in water after I chop to get rid of any leftover live mites. I don't want them eating my buds in drying!

I have some brainwreck clones that are around two feet tall in a makeshift veg area while I wait for this first harvest to finish so I definitely will disinfect my flower tent after.

Is bombing the best method or would scrubbing everything with kitchen bleach cleaner work too?

If lady bugs keep mites at bay I am definitely going to consider it.

I'd be more afraid of spraying anything on a flower that late. If anything you're ruining the flowers with the safe soap, mites leave once the buds dry and they don't taste like anything if you had an infection. Like others said, clean up the room well before starting again, and don't spray flowers so close to harvest with anything beside water for clean tasting herbs..

So if i get a ladybug or 2 in the grow tent then as long as there are pests which there are (spidermite) the ladybug will stay where they are and not fly out of the room?

How about when i go in the tent in order to feed the plants wont it get out then as it will be scared????

The spidermites don't taste like anything thing, but they do crackle a pop which I found really annoying.
