Nirvana White Widow, comment and question for the WW growers

Ok, I decided it was time to jump into a different strain than what I've been growing. Partially because I've been using a lot of bagseed lately. I developed a mom and started working with clones, but I built up a tolerance to it pretty quick. I have no idea what it was, but it wasn't a heavy trich performer. But it was good to sharpen my teeth on as far as learning cloning and mom upkeep.

So now I took the leap into trying my hand at the white widow. I got my seeds from Nirvana. And I have to say, HOLY CRAP, can you get them to my house any faster man? Seriously, it took less than 6 days to get to me. So what's the secret Gypsy? You got Oompa Loompas working for you?

Oompa Loompa doompa dee doo, I got a widow order for you
Oompa Loompa doompa dee dee, here is his cash, now send him his seeds....

So what do you feed them? And are they actually that orange or just a really bad spray on tan?

So my question for the more experienced growers involves topping. The jury seems to be out on whether the WW can handle it or not. The concensus I read says not to top, that they don't like it much. I obviously want a good yield, but not at the expense of quality.

And if anyone can comment on how heavy do these girls seem to feed, and how well do they take to being cloned and made into mommy plants, it would be very helpful.

I am no White Widow expert but we did grow nirvana's version a few years back. We did not top them and if I remember correctly they were pretty branchy. We grew it alongside ak48 and they were both pretty fast in veg. WW did stretch more than I expected and took longer than I figured it would - like 70 days or so.

Another thing I remember is that they were pretty uniform. Also, the ww along with ak48 showed preflowers in veg rather early - about 3-4 weeks. They yield well but they can make you cough. I have read that ww likes at least a 2 month cure. We didn't cure ours that long which could be the reason it was harsh. It has a pretty good high, better than their white rhino, more of a sativa buzz. I liked the buzz from it better than the buzz from ak48 too - but the coughing! It was rare to take a hit and not cough.

I topped one out of 5 and she responded very well. They loved full strength nutes during veg, but about 1/2 strength during flowering.

Come on guys, 55 views and not one response?

I know how you feel.People don't want to answer my questions either. It's weird.

I think the reason people aren't enthusiastic about responding to your threads is because you two do not use the reputation system....much.

A lot of people, after they have took the time to type/research/share, like to know that their efforts were appreciated. I am obviously not one of those people but they are out there.

I give reputation points to everyone that posted in my threads unless they posted something negative. I don't have any problems getting responses.

Remember, people can look at your profile page and see how many reputation points you have given out.

i am currently cycling some nivana ww thru my small rooms.
I topped mine. just pulling down the 1st. More to follow over the next few weeks. Im going to run some untopped next time with less vegg. these vegged 4 to 6 weeks and they are monsters but
The buds are long, they are tight but not hugely thick. I have read alot of complaints about yield but i dont grow to sell so im ok with that. I think a non topped would give a bit thicker cola.

i have found mine very nute sensitive even in veg i got some burn so now about 60% strength

hey we have rep points?

I forgot to mention that my WW is from GHS not Nirvana. Overall they all should look similar.

Have ran several packs over the years and most plants have been good or better with the odd leafy freak.
All ran untopped and were a classic four foot xmas tree shape at finish with heavy main cola and good yield for space used.

Cloned and mothered same as everything else , many females showed sex in late veg under 20/4 lights but no hermies ever seen in this particular Nirvana version.

If you have good results with these i would reccomend their White Rhino if available , have seen some high end plants and rewarding grows locally from this one as well , absolute bargain.

Would give any runts or slow veggers a chance to flower , some lovely compact/drawf expressions to be found that are often culled too soon.

This local keeper tolerates a cold room and suits low height and florescent rooms very well , 65 days in soil but most phenos ran 80 - 90.

Bong Chat, what kind of system are you running? What kind of lights and what wattage?? If you have big lights, then topping/training is not really necessary because you have a larger field of strong light in which to grow big buds on that lady from top to bottom. If you are using smaller lights, then seed plants can be tough to get a good yield from. Topping or training can be a good way to get a larger yield of even-sized buds. No experience with WW though, sorry.
