my 600 is itchin' to get fired back up.

but i cant reconstruct my closet like i did in my last place.

so i was lookin at sum tents, and there is alot of info on here, but only here and there does it pertain to me.

well the footprint i can use is max 4'x 3'

and here is the gear goin in....my carbon scrubber isnt pictured, but it was built specific to run w/ all this gear....and is proven from my closet thread in my sig line...if u havent seen it.

the tents im attracted to that would fit are these:

dr80 (2'8" x2'8") a little small for a 600 but i got a good fan

GRDR080.jpg

the sun hut lg (2' x 4') seems like the best to me...and prolly a bit better for my 600...and prolly best for my space.

what do you guys think?

any pros or cons on these, or any better candidates?

Hi nokuy, I own a dr80 and a dr120. They are both really quality tents, as far as construction, as well as ease of setup and maintenance. I ran a 400w in my dr80 with no problems at all, and that was with a 4" vortex. Im thinking you would be able to pull some serious harvests, if you use the 600w in a vertical setup, and the 6" vortex should be able to handle the heat with relative ease. You may want to consider getting a cooltube with that option though, that way, you would be able to have the plants really close to it. :2cents:

As far as the other tents, I have had no experience with any other besides the homebox clonebox. Take care dude:joint:

I flower in my tent with a 600 watter. I have the Secret Jardin dr 120....I have a good fan as well. With a good fan and good ventilation you can keep the heat right around 70-75 degress F. I can easily fit 9 plants in there and they grow with no problems and plenty of room.

Why a tent at all? Why not a simple wooden frame with panda film - it could be sized to exactly what you need, and would be less expensive.

I'm guessing you are reasonably handy if you plan on living out in the middle of nowhere someday, right?

The only advantages I see to a tent are if you aren't very handy, or if you need the ability to quickly and easily tear down and rebuild.

i can build anything!

you havent checked out my cabinet thread i guess...(hint..its in my sig check it out)...im more than handy.

i dont want or need a construction project right now...i could turn my entire house into a grow at the drop of a dime.

just wanna put my 600 back in service and reap the rewards...i cant even smoke right now, but thats only temporary.

i just wanna keep my grow to myself and not fuk up my property...thats all....there will be a day when ill say fuk it for a min, and prolly run (10) 600's....and ill be in alaska then.

tents are a waste of money. i just blew a butt load of cash on a secret jardin and after putting it together im pissed off that the venting holes aren't in ideal places. previously i built my tents out of 1" PVC and poly. They worked just fine and i could customize the size, add vent holes wherever i wanted, etc. etc. the tents are a rich mans play thing and i regret buying mine but i will make it work now i guess

I saw the DR 80 at a shop and loved it ,,friggin sturdy and the vent socks are awesome ..yes I felt it was a bit small for a 600
that being said I went with the tent that best fit the space you/I can use..

ive got a 2x4x7 tent.
I split the top and bottom so I have a 2ft area on the bottom with flouros and a 5 foot area up top for the HPS.
Works for me but I have a 400.

DR150

I just picked up the dr150 from 4hydroponics.com and it's a damn nice tent. I know that's too big for your space but I'm sure they build them to all the same standards. Quality zippers, material and a good design. No light leaks on this guy. Secret Jardin for me.

I just bought a GrowLab 120 from bghydro.com and it is beautiful. I was so impressed I bought the 145. I'm using a cool tube with a 6" in line fan that sits on top of the roof on the outside with a Deau Passe Filter Organic Air Filter on the exhaust side of the fan. The plants are loving it.

hey brother, you really need to go with a 4x4 tent for now. it is a damn shame they have not made a 3x4 tent yet, but 4x4 is the best way to go with your 600. i know that is less then the ideal 50 watts per sq ft. i hate it too, but that is the way it is. i run a growlab 120l which is a 4x8 that has 1200 in it. 2 600s. it would be nice to run 2 1000s in there, but the heat is hot and venting 600s is easier and more cost efficient. if you go with a 2x4 tent you are really restricting yourself. why not go with the 4x4, have a little room for a fan or just stack the plants in there by the numbers if you want. either way the 4x4 is better for you. i do wish they built a 4x3 tent or something that was perfectly square for a 600 watter to have 50 w sq ft. so listen up tent companies, build it. good luck my experienced friend. just my two c peace smoke respect

Whatup,

I run a DR100 (Secret Jardin) with a 250cfm filtered fan using a 400w cooltube, worsks OK but gets hot when the outside temps rise, for a 600 W I would go for a bigger tent with more ventilation.

Tent is great, all the vents and flaps you will need, when closed up right totaly light proof.

Happy hunting

That's odd considering when I was using a dr80 w/ a cooltubed 400w, and a 175cfm fan, I was always at 3 degrees above the outside ambient temperature right at canopy level. Perhaps you're duct run is too long, or the ambient temps in your place are too high to began with.

I run a DR80 with an aircooled 400w and a 4" Vortex. I have it speed controlled to about 40%. I got 8 ounces from two plants from seed and four clones. Tents are the way to go, and they break down super fast.

Hi there. I am nearing harvest of my first indoor run using a Jardin Dr 150. There are currently 13 plants in mostly 3 gallon grow bags.I am using a 4 inch vortex inline fan with a 600 watt hps. I have two smaller fans going in the tent as well, one blowing straight up to the reflector hood and the other occillating back and forth. I am impressed with tent so far it has been working well as these plants have been growing for along time. I was thinking of air cooling the light and maybe adding another reflector with maybe another 600 hps or maybe 400 hps as there seems to be room for more light. These plants have some impressive crystal production and big colas at about day 50 of flower. Looking forward to harvest. Cheers

I have a dr120, a sunhut, a new hydrohut, and have had a few old hydrohuts as well. The old hydrohuts had problems. The new hydrohuts have lightweight zippers. The dr120 is little more than tinfoil sprayed with a plastic outer coating. The sunhut has heavy duty zippers, a reflective interior, and a heavyweight fabric outer layer. I would not expect my dr120 to survive many set-ups or break-downs. It got pinholes quite easily and I cannot believe they would make a tent so lightweight. Panda poly would last longer. I am waiting for my hydrohut zipper to break any day now. The sunhut has all the venting options, better zippers, and more durable construction. Out of all the tents I have used, I would only buy another sunhut.
