maintaining reservoir pH

help!

after setting up my first rez set up, with a pump attached to drippers, ive noticed a horrible side effect. over time, the pH will drastically drop to about 4ish from 6. i believe sitting in the hot room all day evap.ed out all the dissolved oxygen thusly lowering the OH- concentration. so i added horriblby high amounts of pH up to compensate. more than ive ever added to hand mixed nutes. and it raised it for a while.

well then i got an airstone. i ran it 24/7 and it jumped all the way to 7.8. i then decided to run it only when the pump runs to try to compensate. but i can never get that perfect range. what do you guys do to maintain your rez pH???!?!?!?!

the easiest is to use RO water. canna nutes with ro water and my ph is stable for the whole time in between res changes (2 weeks). i top off with either plain water or half strength nutes if the ec shows a need. evap will definitely contribute to a sour mix.

what nutes are you using? some details would help

i only play with aero, so may not be exact, but think would like to know rez temperature, rez size (gallons), are you using ro, tap, what water?

what is temp of your room, maybe some more info needed to help ya figure out......

Peace. Canna

ro water with high quality nutes will help, but you should still have to check your ph daily.

Floranova is another ph buffered fert that is rock solid...

im using FN B, with all sorts of other shit thrown in. but i used to cut 50/50 RO / tap and mix nutes and just add a dash of pH up per gal and they would be at a perfect 6. well then i got the rez set up and was using 50/50 and it just doesnt seem to work. the room temps range from 75-84 so?

i will use pure RO next time either with FN or maybe CCoco.

ive heard of people using chillers? right? thusly keeping the temperature at a constant setting will stabalize pH huh? anyone with experience
