Trich color at different times of the light cycle...

A few nights ago I checked the color of the trichs right when lights came on. This morning right before lights went off, I checked again and 2 plants had nearly 50% amber, where as they were just going from clear to cloudy a few days ago. Today has been 7 weeks, and these are 2 WAY different pheno types from a cross I did. The mom took 9-10 weeks to finish... so 7 weeks? I mean they look great, but I don't want to miss out on the fattening of the buds in the last couple weeks, plus extra resin production.

SO my question is this. Does the color of trichs get more amber as the lights have been on for a while, then go back to cloudy during the night time? I really can't explain it otherwise. I will check tonight for sure and report back to this thread.... (12 hours from now roughly) but I would like to get some input before then if possible.

p.s. I always harvest at the end of dark cycle, but I believe I have checked trichs many times at end of lights on cycle and made decision to chop next day. I never used to keep records until I became a provider, so the exact day/week wasn't always tracked unless it was a strain I hadn't ran before. So this being day 49, and 50% amber when 2 or 3 days ago there was NO amber is alarming.

Have you misted the plants at all? Kind of doubtful I know but I did it once when my plants were flowering at 6 or 7 weeks or so and what happens is that the light burns the water and turns the trichromes brown. Also the image is not shown on your link. Try imageshack instead.

No.

No.

Then it is more probable that they matured extremely quickly in the last 3 days?

My male I used was insanely quick in flower. I've never had a 7 week strain that is so amazing. Will post pics tonight if the trichs indeed are still partly amber.

Males always show sooner. I pulled one over a week ago. I'm still waiting for it's mate to show but, if it's taking this much longer, it's most likely a girl.

what is your method is inspecting your trics ?? this is how i inspect them

cut just the very tip a snipit of tric covered leaf from top mid and bottom of bud, place on white paper. for inspection i use this illuminated microscope http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2179604. i use 60x and then 100x magnifaction when inspecting

as far as the answer to your question my sugar shack will mature trics real fast once they start maturing. i can harvest my sugar shack 48-50 days n/p and it rocks your socks. i've also noticed once a strain is dialed in your time in flower can be reduced some few days to 1wk.

I have the EcoPlus 60x-100x, which I'm guessing is the same thing as you use. I do the same method, expect use small bud and small leaf. I am chopping tonight if they are indeed amber and don't change back.

Thank you for the reply! I appreciate it greatly.

I was speaking of the male I used in the breeding of those plants. I am pretty sure these sticky, stinky georgeous buds are females =p
