Jamie Waylett plays Draco Malfoy's right-hand man in the Potter films
A teenage actor who appears in the Harry Potter movies has been charged with growing cannabis plants.
Jamie Waylett, 19, who plays bully Vincent Crabbe in the film series, allegedly grew 10 cannabis plants at his home in Kilburn, north London.
He will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on 16 July.
The world premiere of the next movie instalment - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - is taking place in Leicester Square on Tuesday.
Mr Waylett was arrested in April.
He has been in all the Harry Potter films as the right-hand man to character Draco Malfoy.
Mr Waylett will appear in court alongside John Innis, 20, from Barnet, north London, who was charged with possession of 11 bags of cannabis and a knife.

“Harry Potter” star Jamie Waylett has been charged with growing ten cannabis plants.

The 19-year-old actor will have to appear in court later this month for the charges stemming from an April arrest.

Waylett, who plays Potter bully Vincent Crabbe, was busted when cops pulled over his vehicle in London and allegedly found eight bags of marijuana. He was taken to a nearby police station before a team of officers raided his mother’s home in Camden, the Daily Telegraph reports.

A Metropolitan police spokeswoman said the actor would appear in court late this month and “is charged with producing a Class B drug, nearly ten plants of cannabis.”

The plants – valued at more than $3,000 – were allegedly found among DJ equipment and a Playstation, the Telegraph said.

Waylett may face up to 14 years for cannabis production, while the maximum charge for cannabis possession is five years.

LONDON (Reuters) – A teenage member of the "Harry Potter" film cast pleaded guilty on Thursday to illegally growing 10 cannabis plants at his mother's home in London.

Jamie Waylett, 19, who has played school bully Vincent Crabbe in all the films about the boy wizard, had been arrested with a friend after he took a photo of police as the pair drove past officers.

When police searched his friend's black Audi they found a number of bags of cannabis.

Ten cannabis plants were later discovered at the home of Waylett's mother in Kilburn, northwest London.

Waylett's friend, John Innis, 20, admitted illegally possessing 11 bags of cannabis and a knife.

The hearing at Westminster Magistrate's Court in central London was adjourned until July 21, the Press Association reported.

The case was heard the day after the general release in Britain of the latest in the blockbuster series, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

I would expect a fine for 10 plant's in London, first offence etc, his buddy with the knife may not be so fortunate. We've had far too many kid's stabbed to death ( of course 1 is too many) lately in London to simply fine one in such a public case.

A Harry Potter actor has been ordered to undertake unpaid community work after admitting growing cannabis.
Jamie Waylett, 20, who plays Vincent Crabbe in the popular films, admitted growing 10 plants at his mother's home in Kilburn, north west London..
District Judge Timothy Workman ordered Waylett to undertake 120 hours of community service during a 15-minute hearing at City of Westminster Magistrates Court.
