Hey Burnone, i got a Beeman,Sportsman RS2,about 3 months ago.It came with a 177cal. and a 22 cal .barrel.I only use the 177 cal.
Its an accurate and hard hitting pellet gun.It beats the hell out of them old Red Ryder BB guns.

Burn1 I have a Gamo Viper. It is a barrel cock, 1200FPS..surprisingly fast but not accurate. I group at 4+ inches at 30 yards. I've changed my scope twice and just can not get it any better. It should be better? I'm shooting from a bag with a good rest. Anyway I knock off varmits at 40+ yards, which surprised me, when they stand around long enough for me to see the dust of my previous shot and get zero'd in...DD

doobieduck-
Your pellets are going supersonic and aren't made to do that like a firearm bullet is. When it goes through the sound barrier, it moves around from the shock wave. When it slows down and goes back through it, it moves again. Airgun manufacturers sell velocity. And customers flock to it. But it's useless in airguns.
Also, is your scope airgun rated? Forearm scopes can't stand up to the forward recoil from airgun pistons.
You may find a tune kit from James Maccari that will smooth that gun out to a great shooter. You should be able to find lots of information on the Gamo forum and the GTA Gamo forum. Here are a couple of links that may help you...

i have an Norica Marvic gold 5,5 mm that shots 250 m pr second
pretty powerfull to kill even larger birds at a fair distance
doesnt have much time to shot with it these days though
i have an 4x32 scope for it

norica_mavic_style.JPG

co2 guns need a weapon permit here as i understand it but i was thinking of getting a Shinsun air riffle with compressed air
they are as powerful as a pistol but still legal although they talk about banning it here
it is an awesome weapon for plinking and also personal protection from theifs trying to get to your stash

riflecareerandhawkescope.jpg

they even make a model called dragon slayer in 0.50 cal 12,7 mm but its bigbore caliber not legal here
i think 6,36 mm is the max here
but even that model has a muzzle speed that exceeds 300 m pr second
its fed with compressed air from a scuba diver tank at 250 bar
it holds around 6-9 shots in the clip depending on what caliber and the compressed airtank holds air for apr 10 shots at max velocity, after that the speed decreases
well hopefully after harvest i can afford one if the government here hasnt banned it by then

ive been a really passionated collector and shooter in the past but after being to jail some years back ive had to settle with airguns
shooting 22 cal and 6,5 mm at riffle ranges but i lost my gun permits after been jailed and had to sell all my riffles :(

BurnOne is absolutely correct
if a pellet breaks the sound barrier it will wobble to much and get inaccurate
i dont know if your model is 4,5 og 5,5 mm to try and get some of those really heavy pellets
they cost more but they might reduce speed to below the barrier of sound and be more accurate
also they will pack a better punch due to the weight
Handler and natermann makes some heavy diabolos but ive seen some really heavy ones in shape similar to a pistol bullet with even more weight

this dealer is in the US and its too expensive to have them shippe but some of the pellets might be found in Europe also

Yeah OP-
I like the TX200 guns. I've had four of them and a Pro Sport. Two TX200HC carbines and two TX200MkIIIs all in .22 (5.5mm). I kept one TX200MkIII with a walnut stock. Beautiful and super accurate. I use Jim Maccari springs, seals and lubes in all my airguns.

not shot for a while but used to own a theoben fenman with cut out stock with a 3-9x50 whitetail classic scope

and a theoben rapid 7 with logun silencer-simmonds 3-9x50 whitetail classic scope, optima red dot laser. harris bipod-tuned to 24ft lbs(uk legal limit 12ft ibs).

that rifle was sick, used 12 shot mags with it as well, much better than the 7shot.

expensive but well worth the cash.

next one im gonna get has to be a take down rifle like a logan, air arms, gunpower stealth, they pack down to a laptop bag size. and a gen2 nightvision scope.

im a bit of a poacher you see!!

It has been a long time, but I remember some catches being shot through and other shots flying back. I have wondered about a dart for one of these, with some dangerous creative understandings. I'm not sure how far a court would go to say one of these is a fire arm. I don't see combustion, thus it is not a fire arm. But they want felons to not even have tooth picks and a rubber band.

I've had various cheap guns over the years.
I now have a Winchester break barrel w/rated scope.
I have shot a faster rifle but this one at 1000fps is far more accurate than any of the more powerful models. I find that the blunt target points are more accurate than the pointed field points.
I've seen muzzle loaders also act like air rifles when it comes to velocity and shape of round.

I use to have it bad for airguns. I collected for a while. Theres a great shop in gardena california called mac1. thats where i use to buy all my shit. Let see what I still got...
benjamin pump .177 ( looks like a sheridan)
Benjamin franklin .22 (very very old)
Crossman 600 .22 (old but still the very best .22 semi auto air pistol ever made)
Crossman trapmaster 1100 (old air shotgun)
QB77 prototype (no. 2 of 4)
smith and wesson .177 (old hand gun)
and a bunch of other less impressive ones that I never look at! LOL

I still have my 60's vintage Crosman "130" .22 cal pistol...I sent it back to Crosman 20 years ago to be resealed...and it still shoots like a dream and accurate as hell....when I worked construction it was my "snake" gun on job sites...I have numerous copperhead skins on my wall from this gun
