chem or sour diesel?

those that have had both, which do yo prefer?

i really, really LOVE sour diesel, definitely my favorite smoke behind a good pure sativa.

but i have never tried any of the chems/dawgs.

so which is it?

There both good. I see sour diesel around more often. Chemdawg is more rare in my area. Both are great smoke but if I had to choose which one to grow I would grab the Chemdawg because its less common imo.

ive only puffed sour D but will be puffin chem d soon.. id say if ya can get both do it.. If only one go with chemD but if yer a sour D lover then go sour D.. I myself couldnt keep my hands off the Sour D.. good luck peace,,

Neither is going to be leaving my garden anytime soon. (knock on wood) That being said so far I like growing the chemd a hell of a lot more - Less of a stretch in flower, done 10 days earlier, and the smoke kicks my ass more... Not to mention sour diesel has a pretty quick tolerance buildup. They both taste and smell awesome though...

is the diesel an 'up' high and the chem much more stoney? - id be interested to hear the difference in high,

the closest we have come is growing rez's sdibl, and a few of his chem's (bx 1,bx2, cddix), and all are good , but not the holy grail we r looking for...

I've picked up clones of both the Chem D and Sour D and am just starting with them so can't really compare them. I have smoked commercially grown SD though and enjoyed it and the nice uplifting high but with my high tolerance it seemed a lot less potent than I expected after reading the info. Short-lived high also..... I'm thinking that growing my own and making sure it goes long enough may make the difference between so-so and great smoke.

a number of people suggest a longer grow, will improve the duration of the high (speaking of the sdibl).. we let ours go 77days, and the high lasted about 1 hour... we are running it again and plan on 85/90 days.. i think at a point you reach diminishing returns...

Hmmm....I've had both,and they're fully verified,for many years.
I won't get rid of either,likely,ever.
Both have their Place,and both are fully worthy of their reputations, respectively.
I have,or have had,Sour Diesel CloneChemdog "D",Chemdog Sister,Giesel,Snowdog,and Chemdog#4.
I have more actual breeding experience with Sour Diesel,and most likely Chemdog "D",than anyone on the planet,and nobody knows 'em better than I do,and that's a Fact.
Imo get 'em both,whether in seed form from Reservoir,(not a shameless plug,just fact-) or via a clone-only,well-verified) hook-up.
(Pass on the "Apothecary '91 Chem Cut",I smoked it,it's Garbage,stick with the "D" Clone,or the #4,if you have a choice-)
Either way,you'll be smoking what CNBC recently named,
"The most desired, potent,painfully expensive (up to $850USD/oz,as reported,I believe-) marijuana available in North America,today."
Reservoir NewsFlash: It's been available to a selectr few in the EU for quite some time. Not long after I relocated,in fact-:wink:

it has the yield its dank.

i have some diesel kush (strain i made) i crossed with the #4 growing now.
but i love the #4 the D is great too. go clone or youll need atlot of plants to find one as nice. peace
