Dude awesome idea, i have seen the store bought versions of these, and this looks just as capable.. How dry was the trim/bud you used? how full did you fill the drum?

in my experience, and i agree with randude101, it is helpful to add a rubber bouncy ball or a few coins to the drum.. for some reason it helps compress the trim every rotation and for some reason we always got more with something in the drum..

Really great DIY, and probably so much cheaper than the commercial versions.. Awesome, just awesome

I have yet to try putting any kind of agitator (ball, coins, ...) in there 'cause it's just held together with white glue.

But, I think y'all are right. It needs an agitator of some sort.


The moisture level of the trim ...
It seems to me,
if there's too much moisture, the trichs don't easily separate from the trim.
...too little moisture, and the trim crumbles & passes thru the screen...


And, then there's the issue of capacity...
I've only put in a little bit at a time ...not much at all...
Too much trim kinda balls up & just rolls around...

There used to be 2 or 3 diy tumblers on OG, I think.
