This year I'm using roots Organic soil, age old nutes and the smart pots.. Its sooooooo sad to loose a big plant. I'm worried for when its time to flush. I don't want to over water a loose a plant that has big buds. Ideas anyone??

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. i would be pretty devastated if I lost one. I have one plant that I am not so sure about. Very droopy... feel like I could lose her at any moment... everything else is doing so well. I am holding off watering her until she starts to come out of it. Seeing the first signs of revival today, but I am not getting my hopes up yet.

i feel like waiting for the plant to tell you it wants some water is way better than overwatering. are you using hygrozyme? what kind of beneficials are you using in the soil? Did you add perlite or rice husks to your Roots soil? I did not, but wish I did... I'd have to water more, but a soil that dries out faster has better aeration and less problems like you describe.

use hygrozyme ASAP. The rest of the garden looks great.

Gotta go do some gardening and pull tarp. good luck with this.

you should fold down the edges of your smart pots so a bunch of crap doesn't get stuck up in there...especially when things start to get wet... it will be a breeding ground for fungus.

Last year I used Happy frog, the ocean blend, coco and perlite. I had to water every other day and they dried out! The roots retains more moistureand I have 50 bags left over. I'll be picking up some hygrozyme in the morning for sure. I wonder if it’s the new water softener that I had installed for my well.

5.8 is right for hydro, but not soil. try to bring your base nutes to around 6.5, micronutes to 6.8 or 6.9 and cal-mag to 6.2.

when you just water the plants, do you change the ph?

my brian is off... for my hydro I bring it to 5.8 (Canna) outdoor i bring it to 6.5-6.8. w/ nutesI usually water w/ the hose to top off.. I guess I should be more picky and fill the drum and bring it down and bucket feed the water. My mo-jo is just thrown off by all this and I'm 2nd guessing everything.
