6 x 42w CFL and still too hot... disassembed the cab and to the trash it went. i did save all the lights

I've got a cab with two chambers that are 2 sq ft each. Each chamber has 6 x 42w CFLs. What I did was mount an 1/8th inch piece of glass about an inch or so under the lights and put a separate exhaust fan on the light room:

That way, there's one 120mm computer fan extracting air from the plant rooms and then one 120mm for each of two glassed-in light boxes.

My cab temps drop down to the high sixties at night (68 F) and approach the low eighties (82 F) during the day. If I noticed the heat creeping up, I can spin the fans up higher. They're currently all operating at about 33% of max which is much quieter and keeps temps in line just fine.

I did like you did and took my plans to home depot and had them do the cuts for me.

Here's my box in operation:

Here it is... what do you think it is?

Some that i cut off looked worse of course and were dry

This is how my containers/ soil is setup

I found some Amber Trichs i think.. its still way to early but i think if you look hard enough you will find some.

this is the 2nd female the late bloomer and only on that one leaf is all i could find... pure luck out of a lot of pictures...

looks like maybe a MAg deficiency on them leaves..or maybe to dry of air or maybe even a Co2 burn.. good flush like you did is good to make sure no builtup of salts...back off the home made C02 maybe? whats your RH like in the cab? eather way buddy you are dead on balls otherwise as the way they are growing..cant get better then this with bagseed and first cab grow..your dialed!:woohoo: keeping it simple is all i did and its all your doing and the plants are luving it.. growing weed is sometimes to easy:noway::nanana::joint: key now is not to cut before its time.. right around now is when you will see triches/hairs start to turn and they will/should start to popcorn out and swell like the one plant is doing and the other is not that far behind..id give it 4 weeks from here but keep doing what ur doing checking them triches. :2cents:

I thought spotting was caused by Ph fluctuation

oh well, if your ph is 6.5- 6.8 you shouldn't have any deficiencies

Tripsick, bad ass cab dude! Plants are nice and the thread is very informative. Can't remember where I saw it but a dude had a c02 setup like yours. He noted c02 is heavy and sinks. He had the plastic hose in a halo above the canopy with holes punched in the bottom side of the halo. Dude said the c02 sinks as it seeps out of the hose. I think he had a sealed setup.

Top growing Tripsick!! Awesome pics as well!! Hats off to you!

I'm just in the process of setting my first cab up and was after some advice.....

For venting did you just cut holes (2x4" and 1x3") in the bottom of the unit and then use the plumbing pipes to get the air in from rear of unit?? While suspending the plants on a sliding shelf?

Thats what I can work out from the pics.... just wanted to make sure as I had the same plan.

Good times..... high times!!!

Hey Tripsick, amazing job on both your cab and your plants. I myself am running a 200w 2700k CFL grow and its really quite remarkable what these bulbs are capable of.

Your plants are looking frosty and delicious, i know your in for the hardest part, but the little bit of extra patience at the very end is always worth it.

kudos to you my friend, and best of luck finishing up your grow :smoker:
