how do you select NE outdoor strain?

I was going to put this in the Mass/conn/ri thread but didn't want to hijack it. then I thought about putting it in strains/hyb's, but I put it here since I am specifically interested in what will do well outdoors (anything can mature indoors of course). What strains do well in variable temp and moisture conditions and are ready soon enough? yield decent to great, preferably mold resistant, preferably 70% indica although a second type being sativa dominant (yeah I guess early sativas are not A "PIPE DREAM" anymore!). Potency would be nice, as would density, and the heli's and small planes can buzz around here like crazy so something that blends in more than usual would be nice too.

most importantly, it needs to finish in time. it is prob too late this year, and the monsoon rains made it hard to plant anything outside, I am still struggling to get my veggie/flower garden in! it can get into the 30's here as soon as late August or as late as early June, but typically the growing season is about mid-May to like Oct5 or 10. Foliage is not green anymore for the most part by the end of September. Maybe 3 strains would be good, an early safe bet ready by early Sept to maybe the 20th, a second one ready maybe late sept or 1st few days of oct, and then roll the dice with something that finishes as late as mid-oct but preferably like the 1oth. Of these 3 strains, one would be sativa dominant, the other 70% or more indica, and the other could be anything. something that isn't too fussy or could do well in less than ideal lighting conditions in or on the edge of woods and brushy areas. any ideas would be greAT! mucho gracias!

ok not to be rude but I expected some response by now (day later, 21 views). I think it is rude to read and not comment but that's just me. better luck soon I hope.

after some research i found CH9's Double X is a good one. CH9 mendo is nice to both come in feminized and delivery is very fast.

thanks for the advice, I will check into them, obviously for 2010 as it is too late for this year. Please if anyone else can help feel free to step up and offfer ideas. I hoped to get at least 10 different opinions, check out all the strains suggested and pick the 3 that sound the best at a reasonable price. Then to do or not to do depends on fund supply and other things but I am looking for information at this point and go from there. thanks

From experience, Afgani will finish in your area by late September. Also, I've heard White Rhino will finish too. Nirvana carries both inexpensively. Their is a decent amount of information on this in the outdoor growing forums already. Utilize that search function - it's a priceless feature!

Anything with a little indica, I hear that Jack the Ripper is a fast haze but never grew that outside. I have some Agent Orange, I think that is the most Sativa I have other than some Purple Haze freebies.

It honestly depends on when you are willing to pull your plants and the protection you give them. There are trees that block some light, but frost as well.

Biddy Early from Magus, Mango, KC 33 and Leda Uno from KC Brains, Early Riser from Sagarmatha all finished by the end of Sept for me at 44*N.
Am running Mendicino Madness from TH Seeds and Mandala #1 from Mandala this year.
Early Queen and La Nina from Mr. Nice are on the short list for next year.

thanks for the advice. for those that say do a search, I am not aware of any feature that allows you to narrow down what grows well and matures early in my kind of area. I am looking for people to say they have grown a specific type in central new england and it did well and matured in time. First hand reliable info in other words. I was in the MASS/COMM/RI thread, but I see all these types people grew or tried to grow, not really sure how well they performed, and even what performed great doesn't help much if I don't know the area. Where I am, 10 or 20 miles or a little elevation can make a difference on frost dates. The post about what did well at 44 N was helpful, because I am a little south of that and if it performed there, it will perform here in this more southern hilly terrain I have around here. Damn this chopper today was black and may have had a gold star on the side, and it looked like it had its side door open and guys looking out. It was circling low near me for a good 5 or 10 minutes, then took off maybe 5-7 miles away and was circling there for a while then took off. so stealth tips and something not too huge and noticeable may be good too. thanks

Hey space toker, look into some of Esbe's strains, and guerilla gold crosses from greens. I just got some guerilla gold x danish passion seeds from seedbay, they should do well here at 45n (im hoping). Also look at some strains from Boreal genetics, like freezeland and freezeland crosses, mighty mites, etc. You can get those seeds by going to unleashdagreen. Just create an account over there and you will figure it out.
