Hi, I am Hash Man, this is my grow. I post in an effort to showcase my favorite strands, but also to get help from outdoor experts so that my garden can excel this year.... My preperation for this year consisted of dumping 2 feet of local soil mix onto my backyard, it was a mix of composted poultry manure, mushroom composyt, vermicompost, michroizza, and good local soil. I used coco coir as a mulch over the entire raised bed... here are pictures. As of now, i have fed the soil only one ime wirh floranova grow at 300ppm... as i am afraid of salting my microbes... Of couse, I have been drenching with compost tea once a week since the beginnng, and foliar sprays of eintein oil, kelp, molasses... and tmmorw i will spray with bills perfect fertalizer and spray and grow....

Here are some pics.

Here is a Hungry Querkle... Poor little Querkle, she acts like she never gets fed...

Here is a Kryptonite, a few weeks ago. It has really taken off by now. This is one of my favorite strands, but not much is known about it. Plz chime in if you have any info. Its very similar to Bubba Kush and OG Kush... for some reason i think it may be the West Coast Dog, just renamed... I dont know, its bomb tho, and a local favorite.

The pics are not loading properly, I have tons more photos and will upload as soon as the site will let me. While we wait, here is a list of strands that i will be documenting.

Bubba Kush Not Sure which cut, i suspect KATSU, but its hella slow in veg... like pre98....
Sour Bubble Harborsides Selection of BOG's genuine genetics
Green Crack AKA Cush, created by Cecil C, cutting from norcal
Kryptonite - seems like a worked afgani line, but is so similar to bubba and og, that i really dont know
Herijuana- Cutting obtained fron norcal
Grape Ape - cutting from Harborside
SR71 Purple Kush AKA Ultraviolet by trichome techonloy
Cheese - haborside
Blue Dream - cutting from norcal
Bogglegum - harborside
Grape Punch - harborside
Hindu Skunk - SR71
Nancy Botwin - AKA purpulan aka urkulan.
Mango - cutting from bay area
Skywalker OG Kush - harborside
Grandaddy Purple - harborside
Mendo Purps - harborside
Querkle - SR71
Tahoe OG Kush -cutting from tahoe

Tahoe OG KUSH

Skywalker OG KUSH - i have her flowering indoor, and i dont think its the chemdog x ogkush taht harborside claimed, rather it seems more like the blueberry times mazar version

Blue Dream

Getting ready for indoor. OG Kush

Green Crack

more to come when the photos load properly for me...

Yeeeah hash man...lookin great!

Sick genetics too. I say ditch the floranova and stick with the ogan...you'll still have huge plants doing it right.

Tons of strains...thought I had a lot, lol. Which are looking the most vigorous?

I'll be back

fisher15 you are probly right i shoulf just stick to organics, bit then i read a thread like silverbacks fertalizer thread and i go back and forth. i just dont want to use to little and am stuck not knowing how much of floranova or guano to each plant at ithis stage. Correct me if im wrong, but right now we are basically in preflower over here in norcal... of which i hope to take full advantage of.

fisher- what genetics do you have going yourself?

the most vigorous plants in the garden are the green crack, the skywalker og kush, and the blue dream... the green crack is suprising me the most it wants to get huge.. i have 6 of them planted... lets hope for big qualiity and reasonable quantity. its hard to tell how vigourous the tahoe og kush is in comparison because i was getting them ready for outdoor in december of last year.lol its a long story, but the length we have spent to gether only strengthens our bonds haha.

Beautiful grow. Great genetics.

That Blue Dream is insane, right? I am going to post some ten-day before and after pics on mine. She was one of my smallest and is very close to being my biggest. Wish I had an entire garden of them.

What kind of soil? What is the spacing between your plants?

There are a whole lot of organic products out there that fill the huge spectral gap between home brewed tea and miracle grow. And there are also a lot of things that are not technically organic because they are just on the other side of a fine, often political, line. But they are so far from being Miracle Grow.

Good luck. I look forward to watching this progress.

your plants look well established, so I believe they can take nutes at reccomended strengths.

If there is a range- say 5-15ml, I would ride that range with the moon. Full Moon-5ml, building up to New Moon-15ml.

Are we in pre-flower here in norcal? I'm not so sure... seems like veg to me. I'm following instructions for the veg phase with all my nutes. I'd love to know if I am wrong on this.

I'd just watch your plants, adding nutes @ reccomended rates like nomaad said. Von certainly knows what's up, sticking to his recipies you won't go wrong.

And we're still vegging for sure. Plants may be showing their sex, but they shouldn't really flip till mid august, at least where I'm at around 39.

Guess I never really gave a rundown of what I have out there. Let's see...coral reef, Casey jones, chem d, 3, 4, 91, snocap, og mendo, amnesia haze, goo, burkle, purple monkey balls, la nina, GDP, blue cheese, Rez strawD, BB cheese.

So were you able to veg the tahoe for a while indoors, stick it outside, and have it continue to boost? The plants I had vegging for awhile pre-season got passed up quick with freshies.

Anyway, looks great, good luck through these busy months ahead.

nomad- yea the blue dream is nuts!! its so big and deep green i dont really know what to say It is quickly becoming the star in my garden. If i wasnt suck a sucker for green crack and og, she definitely would be my fav. the plants are spaced apart without measure, i gave more room for larger growing plants, and in spaces where i am smashed together, i am caging with 4 inch welding wire to train the branches through. i feel a bit crowded this year, but if i can keep all the pests under contol and handle all the extra work, I will be MORE than happy with the results... Its interesting that u mention altering the strenth of nutes based on the moon... can you elaborate please. I read lola gals thread (very long at this point) and i have noticed better rooting in clones when using the moons cycle but that is as deep as my understanding goes. Would you continue to lighten up on a full moon... even when the plants are raging with vigorous growth?

btw,,, i guess you and fisher are right about not hitting preflower yet. i have one mongolian indica that is going into flower in a bucket on my porch. maybe its just the strand.

POP and CMDRKEEN
thanks for the well wishes, hope these ladies show their full potential for ya... The genetics are top notch and i have tested lots of them indoors.. my sour bubble cut is so kushy and sweet and sour ... but the ogkush is really where its at. I have her going indoors now too, and she is foxtailing all over the place.. I have never before seen this characteristic in an ogkush, but have never been so generous with my nutes. I will post pics when the lights come on later tonight so you guys can see what im working with.

Fisher15- i saw your 4.5 lb monster in silverbacks forum. all i can say is damn, thats what m hoping mine turn out like. think i might just stick with vonforones tea recipes, and maybe add some alaskan humus for more microbial life?
Nice choice of genetics you have there. Dont you just love growing stuff that you salivate over? That snocap even tho its not my favorite makes some of the best hash out there, IMO, and it yeilds like hell in the cali sun. Do you contend that its a freak cutting of hindu kush? That is only what i have heard from my friends up north.

About the indoor vegging- I really dont know what to think at this point. I could show you some OG's that WENT OFF for real...and then some that lagged behind. I have to wonder if its the vigour of the mother i took the original clones from or if i did something during transplant. The interesting lesson i learned this year involves 24 hour veg and sour bubble. I had some sour bubbles i was going to put indoor, so i had them vegging under a 24 hr cycle... When some star plants showed vigorous growth, i was tempted to put them outside, because i only had one sour bubble i planned to throw in the ground... So i took 6 of the most vigourous sb's that i was going to put indoor, and i weened them off of their light cycle over the course of a week. The sour bubble did not mind going from 24 hrs of veg to 20 to 16, all in the course of a week... to play it safe, i kept them by my front porch light for one week after, and i just turned it off at 10pm... The sour bubbles that got a jump start in veg with the 24 hour cycle for 2 weeks are now bigger and more lively then their mom, who was kept on 18/6 until placed outside. I found it interesting. I have some og kush frown directly from clones and i will take a pic soon, there is no comparison, so i think its strain depepndant.... Hows that strawberry diesel do out here? I did her last year and she was a bit fluffy from lack of finishing time... great water hash tho. very melty..
I will be following your grow too...HM

Before I moved back to the States, I would have said that, hands down, indoor OG Kush (as grown by the socal homies) was my favorite all-time herb... Unless its not and the Portland Cough was. Now, I would have to say that the indoor Blue Dream (as grown by some cowboy homies up here) has surpassed the OG as an all-time fav. The distinct unique fuel smell that is unlike any of the "kushes", even the kush-less OG kush. I think this may have something to do with diminishing vigor in the OG genetics. To many 100th generation clones out there. Even at harborside. Let's not kid ourselves. The best OG still comes out of the rooms in OC where they are still growing the Larry OG Kush from 2nd and 3rd gen moms.

Its interesting that u mention altering the strenth of nutes based on the moon... can you elaborate please. I read lola gals thread (very long at this point) and i have noticed better rooting in clones when using the moons cycle but that is as deep as my understanding goes. I'd just watch your plants, adding nutes @ reccomended rates like nomaad said.

This is good general advice. Take anything I say with the knowledge that this is my first go. Its a serious, go, but what I have is a lot of information and little actual knowledge.

That said, I don't do anything to my big-pot plants that I don't first do to a control plant in a 10 gallon pot. I have not yet had a single problem using full strength nutes (bases, catalysts or enhancers) except for on one strain and once when I used a full strength dose by accident on a full moon.

In the tropics, where I had been living for the last 5 years before coming here, most everything in the fields is planted, transplanted, fed and harvested based on the cycles of the moon. My understanding of it is on a very "campesino" level but it works (in a place where people are still set up to feed themselves by community and greater bioregion). So, I understand it like this: when the moon is full it is drawing water from the root system to the top of the plant with full force and at the new moon, the force is much less. So a full feed at the full moon will burn your plants. The rest can be interpolated from that.

I am also not talking about Miracle Grow. I am talking about much better chemical ferts (I use Baicor 9-0-0, Baicor Pro Bloom and Pure Blend Pro Bloom from Botanicare as my bases) and organic and mostly organic other stuff like bloom enhancers, catalysts, compost tea, micronutes, silcates, enzymes, extracts, and a dozen kinds of beneficial microbes. Have a look at my enormous pile o'nutes on the first page of my grow thread. It has doubled in size since that picture was taken. Next year I will have it narrowed down a bit, but this year I am trying to see what the plants like. Following the moon phases has not let me down yet. I am going to transcribe my feeding schedule thus far to my thread one of these days as I have been keeping detailed records on the whiteborad in the garden.

That said, if I felt as confident as Fisher in my abilities to kill it with pure, old-skool organics, I would go that route. I am hoping that next year's outdoor has a lot less products and a lot more piles of various kinds of poop in various stages of decay.:joint:

Fisher15- i saw your 4.5 lb monster in silverbacks forum. all i can say is damn, thats what m hoping mine turn out like. think i might just stick with vonforones tea recipes, and maybe add some alaskan humus for more microbial life?

It seems to me that your plants are a bit close together for the huge yields you would get in fisher's widely spaced 300 gallon pots. I myself am using 200 gallon pots with 10ft or more spacing on center. It is my understanding that yield is directly related to root mass and health. Competition in the foliar and root zone, as found in tighter trench planting, can really hinder the kind of root growth you need for massive yield.

Again, This is just my rookie opinion based on what I am seeing. My sister got 4.2lbs last year from a 70 gallon hole in a 15 foot deep gulch. Lessons learned- that will be her smallest yielder this year.

Regardless, you are going to kill it. Your plants look great and your genetics are top nothc, as billed.

Nomaad- i have been wondering myself how much to reasonably expect from each plant. M best is a 5.5 pounder- a mango haze aquired from harboside a few years ago, and it was odd because i caged it in and i never thought it would have yielded like that, but it did... Alltogether, i put around 60 yards of material on my bed this year. about 50 yards of the dirt mix i described on the first page and about 10 yards of coco coir... My thinking is if the roots travel horizontally they will have lots of space. plus new research on how endo and ecto michroizza work made me think a bit too... it seems that the michroiazza are able to mobalize needed nutients from one plants root system to another if they are of the same species... the research was not carried out on cannabis so its not really valid but i am hoping for the best... the way i planned it out, if i get 1/2 lb from each plant i will be pleased... i think i can expect a bit more tho if i do say so myself... but like you said, either way im going to kill it. :)

i will research a bit more about the moon cycle feeding. thaks for the great info. I have decided to go with vonforones tea recipes for the rest of veg and then flower. i think in the end i will probably taper off with dry kool bloom... or molasses... we will c. have you found a bloom booster you adore?

Fisher - what bloom booster do you use organically?

I just took 1 plant of ogkush to see how the flush went indoors... i have about 10 days left its so yummy its hard to wait... but i am gonna.. ill take a pic once its dry.

Hash man- the Alaskan humus is solid, great for use in teas, looking at some in the PV catalog now...

And yes, life's too short to grow mediocre meds...You said it, top notch only!! :)

Re: snocap; ya know I've never been too impressed from the smoke I've seen, but I know it gets big and is tried and true so thought wtf...maybe just hash it all...we'll see. Guess it kinda looks like HK, but grows so much faster and larger than HK I've run...

Interesting thoughts on pre season vegging, it probably is kinda strain dependent. I had a chem4 mom in a 25 that was pretty big when put in the 300 in late may, it has barely grown. Don't know if I'll try that again, it was such a bitch dealing with that thing, (and the others) in the 25 pre season.

The strawD, I really like how it's growing. Trained her into a nice bush, though she is one of my smaller plants. Really looking forward to the smoke, hope mother nature allows me to take everything to the LIMIT. Got the seeds from last yrs photo of month, oct.

You got the right attitude, less you expect, the more you'll be pleased...kinda how I've always went into it...that said, I think you'll do quite well. Check out some threads posted by OBSoul33t, don't think he's on the boards anymore, but he grew in a large bed too and KILLED it. I mean big time.

Dude, love coco and would've used more if it wern't such a pain in the ass expanding it. 10 yards? Damn, that's like, what...60 big bricks? Right on.

Organic bloom boosters? P seabird guano via foliar is solid. Said to be the 'secret ingredient' in Sonic Bloom. Have you guys seen that? A friend of a friend apparently swears by it. Kinda spendy, maybe next year...also, nettles and comfrey are great used in flowering teas. Wish I had a fat patch of both to pick from...again, next year. I plan on using peaceful valleys omega 1-5-5 as a base during flowering, then finishing with the 0-0-10.

I've never grown OGK, but always been interested...thinking about doin a lil indoor this off season with some varieties that may do better under the hps.
