Serious Seeds AK-47

Greetings fellow law breaking (and law abiding) farmers. This happens to be my 2nd indoor grow. I used to grow in a cabinet but have since moved to a 31"x31" GrowLab tent for flowering.

This journal is for all to enjoy although it's merely a way to keep track of my grow. So I will start with some pictures. Some data for my records. Let's see if I can find a keeper out of the only 4 females I got from 11 seeds.

May 23rd - Planted all 11 (one was cracked during shipping) seeds

May 26th - 8/10 broke surface of soil

June 25th - 4 plants showed me female "parts":woohoo:, and 4 hermies :wallbash: ... I took the top off of each female and threw them in the cloner.

July 9th - Took 8 more cuts (2 of each) and threw into cloner ... 3/4 original cuts are showing signs of roots. I don't know what is taking AK#3 soo long to root.

Here we are so far.

a few drops of superthrive per gallon gave my clones roots in 7-10 days that looked like cauliflower. Home-made bubblecloner. Three of my clones were from my Serious AK. They're getting ready to go into the cab when the current crop comes out.

Looks like some healthy plants you've got there. That serious AK is some serious stuff, hopefully you'll get something that stinks like cherry. :smoke:

I've gotten roots in as little as 5 days using nothing but dip-n-grow and sticking them in rw cubes or rapid rooters. Average is 8 days. Didn't notice a difference using superthrive.

Previous to my learning about how easy it was to make a bubble cloner, I used to dip my cuttings in cloning gel and put them in Rockwool. Within a week or so, I'd have a few spindly looking roots (or single taproot).

With the first ever use of the bubble cloner and NO rooting gel I had plants that had a big fat rootball that was several inches long and looked like a white upside-down tree. Perhaps it's not the superthrive, maybe it's just the bubble cloner. I did a few more clones a week later with plain water and they rooted in about the same time, but with less than half the root density of the first batch. Not a very scientific sampling, I know.

Thanks for the reply:joint:

I've had 0 success trying to root in anything other than my aero cloner.

What I like about the aero cloner is that conditions don't have to really be anywhere near optimal ... it just takes longer.

I'm sure if I gave them the right temperature water for one .. things will really pick up

Hehheh!........I just cut my clones, and stick 'em in some soil. Works every time. I've used RW, rapid rooters, gels, powders, super thrive etc. Keeping it simple puts all them techniques to shame. I sold my aero cloner, after I paid almost 400 bucks for it. Live and learn I guess.

Wait...What?

^^^Yeah, I noticed a high percentage of autoflowers in my pack recently. I had 2 fems(1 indy and the other more sat leaning) that didn't auto on me. I knocked them up with some Original Sour Bubble. Hoping for some killer sour keepers for a project.

Anyone else notice a lot of AF in AK-47 recently?? If ya ask me, I think its complete BS. If I wanted AF, I would surf over to MDANZIG and have a chat with S_a_H.

Ah yes...AK-47...I grew that back in the day...got the cherry pheno on my 2nd run...now there's some delicious stash. Now say 'delicious stash' three times, lol.

Meh, depends what you're putting it into. I don't like the bubble cloners because I don't like dealing with bare roots like that, as I'm always going into a medium...and it's usually a course one. It's like I can feel every root fibre that I break. But naturally, the technique makes a different looking root ball than rockwool, or rr, or jiffy...also, what you can't see is what's filling up the cube...a beautiful ball of roots. :smoke:

If you're not using any rooting hormone the superthrive might be helping a little...as it is basically, a rooting hormone (or several). I don't like the stuff though. Stinks. And in the long run, makes no difference.....except possibly reversing sex on your plants.

Ok.. time to post a question..
how do I spot the cherry pheno? and which other ak47 pheno's might be good. I like a balanced high/stone, not too much sativa.

Thanks in advance!

Later edit: Sorry I was so high I was thinking I'm in another Ak47 thread. I am not trying to hi-jack your thread. Good luck mate!

This is my aero cloner. Same internals as power cloner. Cost me less than $100. Can add new sites for $1.50. Works like a champ. I have also had good luck with rootone pwdr and my soiless mix, just mist x2 daily. Best of luck with your AK. Mine is a indica fruit pheno and its my bomb diggity strain out of the 7 cuts im running right now.

looks like you have an indica pheno. Mine is indica and fruity as hell I have described it as sangria wine but you could say cherry. check out the fat leaved clones on the right in my cloner they are all ak.

all of my plants smell and look the same ... i dont know what sandalwood is or how it smells but im guessing its that pheno

the OnLY difference between my plants is that 2 of them stretch a LITTLE more than the other two

Here's my Ak, or at least the one that's photogenic enough. The other one was flopped over it's whole life.

Anywayz.......Serious AK-47....dusted with Original Sour Bubble. This is the short squat pheno. You can see the sativa influence by the thin ass leaves.
