PC Case Reborn

Well I ended up losing about 5 little plants (Over did nutes and then after flushing over-watered damn I suck)

But these two were thrown in a tiny pot and let to grow outside, well they did not die so I moved them to 16 oz plastic cups. They started to grow which what appears to be two different strains not a clue on what. One looks female the other, not a clue, looks female too but that could just be wishful thinking. But finally got fed up and cleaned up the box pulled the cords on the outside and now have two decent pots in there. I plan on upgrading the light when I can.

Using 27w cfl and 2 exhausts passive intake big fan in my room that blows from the ceiling

18/6 cycle I was doing a 12/12 but saw a friend that grew from the same batch of seeds and his plants were growing so much better.

Added Foxfarmgrow on the really green one and it was half the size of the other plant, now it matches it size, so finally giving them a 1/4 tsp with every watering tied down this morning and now this is the new set up.

One strand not a clue what it is

This was 1/4 the size of the other, after 2 days of nutes it became this

Tied down now but if not they would be touching the light on the top.

Phew..well hope these two grow a lot better. And one of them smells BEAUTIFULLY I need to get odor control working soon...lol

do you plan on putting another bulb or two in there? you could really fill that case up with bit more light, at least buy a cheap split socket and double your output

Anyway, definitely get more light in there! From my experience you should have the plant within an inch of the bulb without causing heat burns. If you're using PC case fans for air ventilation, use a 12v transformer (commonly found/used in small appliances.. cell phone chargers, etc) for power and make a carbon filter. I'm currently using an aquarium filter and it's doing well to cover the smell; it's a piece of normal filter material with a vented box of carbon slapped on the side. It's easy to acquire, inconspicuous and upgradable.

I fixed the strain :p

Well before I tied them down they were kissing the light I'll glue another extension cord to that ceiling.

I'm using a PSU for the fans but I might have to switch it quickly so that the AC adapter can get plugged into a timer thanks for the tips though

And hey I found one of those fish filter things lying around, duct taping right now. Thanks man

You should check out how I have my electrical system set up (in my PC case, click the link in my sig!). I think if you disassembled the PSU like I did you'd have more grow room. You'd have to do either some minor (VERY easy/simple) soldering or get electrical tape + wire caps. I'd lean towards the soldering side, but I just enjoy a good project... :)

shit soil will give you shit plants! the yellowing is from the unhealthy soil and nute lockout or no nutes at all..you want the best start with the best seeds, lights, fans, nutes and go from there etc.

Dude just keep doing what your doing and fix one thing at a time. No reason to start with the best of everything if your just (I'm assuming) learning. I would fix the soil though...Good luck.

Well, interesting you should say that, both are with the same nutes and same soil, soil is from local nursery.

But hmm..now this one looks sick and the spots...wtf kind of soil do I buy should I mix it with the perlite I have? Or should I stop giving it nutes? Just weird because they are both in the same soil..exact same amount of nutes and watering.

There other one is healthy and growing really well

Thanks, took the quick route and just bought a bag from the local Hydro store (Support your local community :p) Got a bag of Foxfarm Soil Organic stuff, nice white pebbles and rich soil, the smell coming from the healthy one is amazing and I see the body bits so hooray one female. Second one got a bit more brown and eh..nasty.

I tried to move them from the soil and best as possible the roots were entangled in root chips (Lesson learned) so the chips I guess seem to be cutting and hurting the roots instead of helping the development. So now they are in good soil will update with pics later hopefully with good news.
