Lucas formula in veg

Quick question for the Lucas users, what ratio do you start with in veg? 1/4 strength, 1/2 strength?
Or do you go 6/9 all the way thru?

Lucas users use 8/16 micro/bloom all the way through.
Or 2 ec of FloraNova Bloom.
Or 15ml Pureblend Pro + 5 ml calmag.
Lucas is full strength from start (roots) to finish.
6/9 isn't Lucas...

Thanks dongle69, ljjr. You are right about 8/16 being Lucas. I was quoting H3ad's formula:redface:

Do I have this right, you can use Lucas formula at the same strength all through veg and bloom?

Provided you are using HID lighting for veg...yes. If you are using floros then the ratio is a little lower, cannot remember for micro/bloom, but for FN it is an EC of 1.4-1.5 vs the EC of 2 for HID.

6/9 should be used full strength from clone until after stretch in flower then the micro should be decreased or dropped and only the bloom ran, depending on strain.

I know this much, I'm getting mag defs like a mofo now.
I use r/o water (20ppm) and 8/16 lucas, ph 6.0

You running 0-8-16 full strength in coco? That is a soil/hydro formula. You should try out head's ratios. It's designed for coco. I use it and it works perfectly.

I use head's formula and i'm having mag issues as well. I've gave them a dose of epsom (don't have immediate access to calmag) and have since been using 1/2 RO + 1/2 tap for the feedings, and keeping an eye on it from here on out.

I use the Pureblend Pro Bloom for soil/coco. week 1 20ml/gal. Week 2 25ml/gal. Week 3 30 ml/gal. Week 4 and up 45 ml/gal. Super bloom baby. Grow new school. Depending on your enviroment also. I kind of have an ideal enviroment to adjust and mess around.

See what I mean, ( I just posted a thread asking guys to state their Lucas formula)
it seems that everyone who runs the Lucas formula the way its written (r/o water no additives) gets a cal/mag issue. WTF?

i personally think that its VERY strain dependent. Maybe when this fomula was invented it worked great on the genetics that he was using at the time...and then after. However, different genes have emerged, and have different requirements, thus giving need to a tweak in the original formula.

Another valid point. I have to agree. Not really saying that the Lucas formula is no good or any other for that matter. Just that as this "hobby" goes along things change.

I think OP needs to find the thread on Lucas formula and the thread on Head's and do some reading because he's getting them confused.

Personally I have started small clones off at 4/8 and not too soon after go on to 5/10. These nutrient profiles are fine for veg. Then the 8/16 for flower works well. I believe the 4/8 has an EC of about .7-.75. Which would make the 5/10 a good veg EC.

Oh and BTW After just searching for the Lucas formula I found out that Lucas actually does state to use 5/10 for veg. I also remember the 6/9 that you are talking about but haven't seen that since the OG days.
