Was this a Big mistake or is it ok?

Hi im on 41 days flowering and i think i have some small buds for that time... Did i mess up because i never trimmed my plants?

Are there any of you professional growers that never trim your plants?

Is it too late to trim the lower branches that already budded?

Any kind help would be greatly appreciated.

im growing all mixed strains

I have 28 plants in 3 gallon buckets. DWC

Under 2 1000watt HPS

I think 41 days in is probably too late. Some strains respond well to being topped before flowering or even early during flowering. Im personally a fan of not really damaging the plant too much, a cut up plant can become more prone to pests or other problems as its spending its energy on healing its self. Best of luck!

41 is early. they will pack on weight.

I only ever take two inches away from the bottom i grow them up to 20inch and then take 2ich of the bottom leaving 18 inch of bush thats because i use 6s and a 600w hps penetrates exactly 18inch but your using 1000s so u shouldnt have a problem! They alot on in the last weeks ;>

thanks guys, because i was just comparing my 41 days with other peoples 41 days results, and mine are just 1/4 the size of their buds

I hope i will make at least 1 oz a plant ill be happy

i ask what strain because obviously different strains and genetics have different flowering times.. if you are growing fast finishing indica's then 41 days is probably too late to trim, and they won;t be packing on too much more weight.. If it is a slow finishing sativa, then 41 days is early and they will for sure pack on weight.. I grow indica/sativa hybrids one is a 60% indica/40% sativa, and the other is a 60% sativa/40% indica.. at 41 days my indica dominant strain was looking so close to being done while the sativa domnant obviously needed a few more weeks.. At 41 days the indica dominant had bigger buds than the sativa dom. So Like i said, strain and genetics are just as responsible for bud size as is trimming..

In my setup i trim all branches below a 16" trellis, at or before 3 weeks into flowering..

i have a majority of hybrids and a few sativas.

even though my hybrids bud is bigger than my sativas, they are still small in size of buds. My biggest bud size i have is like 2 inch wide. and smallest ones are just little pop corns

Quick guess list, not enough info to really get a grip. fill out that little list everyone uses to describe the garden dynamics. Much easier to help you.

Topping would not have changed much looking at the overall vigor. Shorter might have been good, hard to tell exactly by your pics.

the plants away from the lights are alot smaller than the ones with light.

But yea i had nute problem the PPM went as high as 3k-4k =/ but PH is all fine

Ummmm yeah . . . nutri's at that level will pretty much shock and stunt them down. Even when corrected they have been seriously stressed; there is not much you can do now other then nutrient properly. The other indicator is your yellowed and purpled leaves. Yes they do that- but yours doesn't look healthy, and is early in the cycle to look like that.

Now you know for next time. Nutrient takes time working with them, understanding and study to really get it down. Less is far more with nutrients, DON'T trust recipe sheets or bottles, then tend to be way over the required dose. How strong is it now? How strong is whats running out of your containers? PH?

I know your looking at yeild a lot- for now I would back off seeing just that and try and take in the whole dynamic of the situation, what needs to change, and what is working. This will help you improve your yeild and solve problems more effectively. Things are very interrelated in indoor gardening. Come up with a plan for what you think you need to have happen, then try to figure out everything that relates with that change, and then think about the equipment and usage that goes with those changes and effects.. Being single focused can cause you to miss seeing something important (like the nutrient issue) and too only focus on what is right in front of you.

I would really check your light level out- it looks to close to me- but like I said hard tell from pics. Brighter is not always better. You can very easily overblast them, which is stress, and will hamper growth. Generally: 12-18" for 400 (though you get em closer, you really don't need too), 18-22" for 600, 24-36"+ for 1000's. If you put your arm out where your plants tops are and it should feel just slightly warmer then your room, or if you arm is getting really warm after 30 seconds you maybe too close.
