Boiling roots?

I was given a tip (by someone I know who grows) to submerge the root system of the plant in boiling water before harvesting. He claimed that it would increase potency or some such thing.

I am damn sure not trying it, but I'd like to know if there is any truth to the matter. If not, I'll be sure to tell the guy he's ruining his product. I would imagine that if anything the heat would cause THC in the stems/root system to vaporize.

No, it won't increase anything. Once the plants are dead or cut hot water is not going to move anything through the plant. That is one of those old tales back in the earlt 80's when Home Grown mean't it was shit weed.
