^ very interesting and I have no clue as I'm not that knowledgeable .

1. don't more people have mag issues then calcium issues?
2. more iron does not seem good, but does anyone know the point of a iron overload , or the cause of to much iron what it will do to the cycle?
3. I guess less is more, I never go over 1, and would never use 2

^once again these are my off the top of my head.. I have no clue


but i was reading in a book, that sugar, when water is low level sucks the water out of microbe's bodies ?? this would be bad considering we give our plant wet and dry cycles, and not a constant semi-wet environment

Just out of curiosity, are those percentages the 'NPK' numbers or the RDA percentages?

Given that this is a human food-grade item that you're specifically asking about, I'm inclined to think that those numbers are RDA numbers.

But I could be wrong.

aHH - I was thinking the % number listed on the bottle "Plantation" (ex. 20% Iron) = 2/10 of physical contents & the other 80% is other things ?

Wild Guess / Gut Feeling but that was lead me wrong before.

Im guessing if you were to use Plantation Blackstrap at 1Tbsp per gal.

NPK CAL MAG Iron = 0-0-5-10-?-10

Something like that or maybe higher ?

Unlisted Mag with a 10mg shot of sodium aka. "salt".

* Read the fine print lol - Percent Daily Values (PDV) are based on 2000 cal diet ?

The reason that I asked the question that I did is that the 'testing' for 'NPK' of a specific agent is light-years away from analyzing the 'food/benefit' content of a specific food product. They're governed by completely different rules/procedures/etc.

Just curious as usual.

I opt for using brown rice syrup vs. any molasses product regardless of source, i.e. sugar cane, sugar beets, sorghum, et al.

It might be a topic worth researching if you're so inclined. Particularly the different sugars found in the various forms of 'carbohydrates' generally used in culinary and agriculture applications.

Especially 'malt sugar' - the sugar chemical make-up may be of interest.

Or not.

Thought I read before about someone calculating the NPK of molasses here - bummer.

Gonna keep molasses around but only heavily watered down as a compost pile stimulator.

the blackstrap mollasses is use is from holland and barret its calles meridian but it doesnt say its unsulphered does that mean i should stop using it?
 
Try to not eat the whole bottle, I just bought some organic. It does more than feed microbes, it has micro nutrients if you didn't stock the soil up. Lot's of hydro nutrients are short on micros, even if you use dolomite lime.

Depends on the strain & medium. ( C99, and some of her crosses, are notorious Mg hogs. )

More Iron in the mix is almost always better than having less.

( Who cares what happens in hydro? GH nutes spout from Satan's pecker! )

High levels of Iron in the soil was found to be positively correlated to increased levels of THC/CBN/CBD several decades ago in the groundbreaking studies published by Alan Haney and Benjamin Kutscheid.

Never used mollassas before but picked some up (Brer Rabbit) after reading several threads on it and its use. I've been using Kool Bloom before and was happy with results. We'll see what the molas can do.

I've heard to use near the end of flowering, like the last month, then flush with water only last two weeks. Anyone know proper application?

I've read that molasses also acts as a chelator, helping to make nutrients readily available. The 3LB mention this in their molasses article. (There's a copy here on ICM.)

I use Wholesome Fair trade Unsulphured Organic Blackstrap Molasses.
Potassium 730 mg 20%
Calicum 115 mg 10%
Iron 15%
Mag 8%

Use 1 tsp per gallon at the end of bloom and in flush mixed with water.

Before I used Plantation Blackstrap molasses.
 
Top
