My Super Stealth Micro Cab...featuring Jack Herer!

ha ha...what did you tell him? a dead body?

I told him I keep a little bit of weed and my bong in there. I know he knew I was lying, but he didn't say anything because there were other people with us. He probably suspects that I grow, but he doesn't know for sure, so there is still not a single soul except me and strangers on icmag who know I'm growing. I want to show my friends so bad though! But I can't :(.

nice job man! ...i love cabs like these that hide out in plain sight, lol.

btw, i had to laugh as i'm switching from my CFL's to 2x 150watt
hps's, ...i got lucky and got 2 for $20.00 USD each about a week
before the site i got them from discontinued them, lol.

here is a pic of the beginnings of a cooltube i'm DIYing for the new
lights to help control temps in the new fruiting chamber i'm in the
middle of finishing. ...i'm hoping that 300watts of HPS will give me
all the power i need in my new cab.

and a couple of my previous, CFL based, closet grow.

Glad to here it bozo, I hope your 150w work out for you. With the cooltube and an s&p, it'll be a great setup. Maybe one day I'll go back to HID but I'm trying the CFLs this run.

Update: 8 days 12/12. So far no real stretch! Growth has remained constant, if not slowed down.

Woah, awesome work, dude! Perhaps you could make a screen extension for the taller side. Those leaf prongs are looking very skinny/sativa but you got a fair bit of headroom by the looks. Keep it up!

You gotta keep them tucked down under the screen until the buds start to grow. Looks like you have more above than below the screen. Your girl looks very sativa dominant and will take off on you.

This puppy stretched for a month straight.

Thanks for the words of advice redgreenry! She's not really growing any faster than during veg, which is kinda blowing my mind, but I'm not complaining :). But she is still growing, and I'm still keeping her nice and tucked in.

Thanks fellas. I'm about to post a bunch of update pics once they're finished loading...

Ok here we go...Yeah, I think it's now just beginning to stetch. THIS HOE DONE GONE APE SHIT ON ME, is Wayne Brady gonna have to have to chock a bitch?!

Here's a shot with the lights off so you can see a little better:

Alright, time to get down and nasty on her. There will be some pulling, there will some bending, there maybe even be some bondage. :D She's going to need some first aid after it's all said and done...

There's no more room for the ordinary method of pulling the tops down and moving them to the next square, so I had to get a little creative. Several zip ties where used to pull tops down, or to bind them against the screen/wooden frame. I tried a little bending of the branches, but they didn't take to well to it. To aid them, I used inch long sections of a straw as splints. The overgrown tops on the far left side where out of range of the screen, so I had to use another technique - the fabled "candy cane" lst shown in this pic:

You can't really tell from this pic, but about half of the tops are sideways:

Aww, much better!

I'm going to go now and drink some whiskey, grill me a steak, and smoke a bowl - in that order.

Hey Cozy, would love to see how these buds come out. Did you trim or prune it at anytime? i've never done a Scrog so was looking at your stealth scrog box for ideas? And that tying was a great job what was her overall height?

I really really like your cab. Tucked away and so unobtrusive. all the hard work will pay off!

Ive read your post and just like me low noise level is so important. You sleep with you head next to it! I sleep probably 3 meters from mine.

Sometimes we gotta be careful that its not the case its quiet because its not moving enough air. I ran into this problem and had exactly the same thin, spiney cupped leaves on new growth that would take ages to open, with yellowing at the base of the new leaves.

In my opinion they are without question heat stressed. The bulbs are getting too hot and putting out too much IR radiation. It is not due to a sativa dominant trait. My plants stretched FOREVER and were very slow to begin budding proper. These perfectly match the symptons i had. Bud growth will be fluffy if you dont do anything about it but that may just require turning your fan up (assuming you have it on a speed controller?) and having fans to blow on the bulbs more so they are all cool and not emitting excess IR

For me it required a total ventilation overhaul which was unavoidable really and the plants weren't going to wait for me.:wallbash: but i got my arse into gear and fixed it and im still satisfied with the noise level. Best of luck. Then again you may disagree

Nice! Good to see you taking control!

Thanks immaculate, I figured I better take control now why I still got a fighting chance.

I remove leaves only when they're covering up bud sights. Yesterday she got a pretty good haircut. So far I have only pruned a few lower bud sights that weren't getting any light, but I'm probably going to prune a lot more once she starts flowering.

Hey there D.I.trY. thanks for the kind words! Its actually not right next to my head, I guess I was exagerating a bit, its on the other side of the room as far away as possible...but the room isn't very big.

I read that thread and I don't know much about 1000w HPSs but I don't thinkn I'm having those problems. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll sertainly keep an eye out for it. It's only been like 11 days into flower, so it's too early to tell maybe...

I don't just don't see any syptoms of heat stress. Temps never get above 84*, there is no light bleaching, no taco leaves, no upturned tips. I have a fan blowing on the bulbs and my exhuast fan is pulling more than 100cfm. I understand that heat is too easy to build up and can cause havick for MJ plants.

Just some more pics here, thought I'd share these with you.

She showed me her vag...er, I mean pestles:

The fan is sucking in the leaves! *snip, snip*

Do you guys think that it's too dark of a green? Should I ease up on the nitrogen? I'll be dropping it from the feed altogether once shes blooming. Let me know if you think this leaf is too green:

I know the thermometer does not raise alarm bells however this is part of the problem that baffled me. It wasn't a case of the air being too hot (well there may have been a bit of that) but rather that the bulbs were hot and the spectrum of the bulb emits alot more infrared. When ur cab is all closed up for some time and you open it and immediately touch the bulbs how hot are they?

Its a big challenge for us microgrowers to reduce IR - especially for those of us that have to keep noise at a minimum. In a tent or a room for a more conventional grow the lights can just be raised to diffuse the IR or there is ample space to put in an oscilating fan.

looking at this picture notice how at the grow tips the new leaves are very thin towards the base, like they are tyring to conserve water loss brought about by the IR radiation. There is also a yellowing at the core of the tip. Like I say, I had the exact same symptoms and the remedy was reducing IR. this is not a nutrient problem or a ph problem.

like you say its only 11 days into flower so we can see how it pans out until you decide if any action is necessary. However i suspect they will behave like my plants did and will carry on stretching like an absolute bitch and you will be wondering if it will ever stop!

I'll definately be watching this one and thankyou for the updates! best wishes.
