Looking good all ..

RE: nutrients,,, just keep an eye on the leaf tips,, they'll tell you when they've had too much feed.. we use guano/wormast/sugar/sea weed tea,, the highest feed on the SSH F2 was 2.2 EC... (fastflowered) :D

I, too, have a 5-pack of SSH, but to be perfectly honest, this strain doesn't *look* all that great from the posts I've seen, just average kind bud looking. Obviously I'm missing something because there is a lot of energy behind this strain on icmag. Can anyone please enlighten me about SSH... what's all the hype about? Does it taste or smell uniquely amazing, is it a classicly different unique high? There are so many great strains I can grow now, but would love some good reasons to grow out a few of my freebie SSH. Thanks!

must be good if yer shrouding it in such mystery. you'd advise i read some grow reports then, huh? no great stories about SSH that begin with the such ... "when i pulled out that ssh bag, the aroma took everyone by the noses and gently wafted 'em into a long forgotten memory of past summers... " or ... "that ssh took over everything i'd been smoking all day. wow, i can always count on it to rock my world ... " ya know... anyone wanna share anything like that? thanks!

<g> i remember lots of SE Asian and Colombia, Panamanian and Mexican (not to mention Africa) sativas that heads today would look at and call it crapola. Really scrawy, leafy looking shit. But in fact, the high would 'rock your world' know what I mean, Bert?
My bro has always been all about "smell this, Ooooh! Look at this, see the resin..crystals, Ahhh, it tastes like apple pie and pine cones with fresh mango topping...Mmmm!" blah, blah, blah. Fuck it. I want to smoke it, not write a restaurant review about it's physical features.
I'll write a report on the SSH as soon as this plant is finished and cured and I SMOKE IT!

Seismic mentioned catpiss odor.. while my plant smells nothing like catpiss up close, the room reeked of catpiss today before lights out.
Smoked a quick dried sample.. very interesting flavor on the exhale, very floral, like my favorite flowers-jasmine.

nice hypo.. jasmine reminds me of sweet floral. lots of sativas share that catpiss-like smell i've noticed. hopefully there's something else in there tho to distinguish the ssh?

Yeah ,, some of these plants smell like stale sweat in flower,, (I's thought it was me, lol)

SSH usually holds a nice fine layer of complex resin,, the smoke is like some of the best import Thai/Asian weed available back in the late 1980s/1990s... tastes range from lemon to woody to spicy. The buzz / energy these plants give out is subjective,, depending on specimen.

These SSh F2's usually take a LONG time to mature,, :canabis:

with fastflowered you mean 12/12 from seed?

yeah (very little veg. time) using SOG method,, and forced flowered :D

nice cracky. some amber trichs already, and that many white hairs left on her at 70 days! how long ya think she's got left?

Well the SSH f2 got the chop at day 59, when under the 100x scope, all the trichs were cloudy, with minimal amber. Here is a small pic of some dried up lower nugs:

So far the smoke seems to be pretty decent, with a nice heady high, and a very strong ammonia taste and smell. Although the yield is very low, as I expected it to be. Overall I would say that it is definitely a worthwhile freebie, although it seems like there are much better phenotypes to be found than the one I came across. Take care all, and mucho respect Doc for making these available.:joint:

what was the first question? <g> ... it, along with two males vegged along with three Mazar and seven Blueberry for eight weeks. I cropped the ssh twice very young, at about 3-5th node. The other plants were lsted at the 8th week and the ssh still was taller. I ended up LST the ssh about a month back. That's why the horizontal structure.

I think it may go 12 weeks, I dunno. One Blueberry that's still growing with this ssh is just about finished putting out new growth and the trics are similar to the ssh. A real late BB. I have some late maturing BB outdoors for seed, if it's good weed. (showed sex 2-3 weeks into 12-12. the otheres showed at 6 weeks veg)
