well, i am still not sure and cant speak yet from personal experience. But i ve read alot and my early conclusions are
24/24 gives most growth BUT
20/24 or 18/24 show almost as well with very little difference and use less energy and give your ballasts a chance to cool down.
But i have read many posting that the dark period is needed but no real explaination why. My first guys were 24/24 and grew like crazy.

ok found the thread Mr. I. M. Boggled should be ICMag's information Guru

with out some shut down time the plants can never fully compleate this important process of the plants life. so i've allways vegged under 18 hrs on 6 hrs off and flowered 12 on 12 off

got a commercial friend that uses 18/6, 5 gallon SOIL no transplant from start to finish, lights off during the middle of the day when it is the hottest etc...

*saves on your overhead with lower light bill

*plants benefit from dark period

*darkness allows a basic foiler feed to be maximized once a week with no burns, proper intake etc

*fights of the HEAT!!!!

*allows your extraction/heat exhaust system to catch up and clear itself of the constant hot air buildup

IMO it makes no sense to use 24 hr lights in the summer

The funniest thing is at least from my experience the plants dont grow much faster if they mature faster at all using 24/0.And thats supposed to be the big draw and its not even true

I don't think the plants can use more than 18 hours of full light. If you were using less dim lighting or farther from the bulb then may be, but this is just my hypothesis.

Sounds like your doing evrything possible that you can do. You will notice though ,I have at least that when you went from 24 to 20 to 18 if you go there your girls will think light cycle is changing. Wont hurt anything you will notice some changes though. Nice op keep it up, looking forward to some pics.
