Drippers/pot closeup, some of the lower leaves that were near the white poly fried n got crispy... the plastic is REAL warm even though its white too much for the leaves to take, anything that was flapping in the breeze was cool tho, even @ 112

Hella, I always enjoy seeing folks experimenting, encountering some issues and finding solutions. It looks like you've given this concept much thought, and it looks like it's going to work like a champ for you. It will be interesting to know how much fluctuation you have in the reservoir temps from day to night. It should average out fairly reasonably.

Continued good luck!

Post your rez temps day high and nite lows. I know a hydro store that has theirs outdoors and have for many years (Socal).

I think we would get along real well in the real world...

Its only been 3 days out there but I felt the water this morning and its COLD.... I dont have a floating thermometer anymore, but really the water is in the SHADE all day, 77f in the shade [ambient] if u saw my temps posterd earlier so as long as that white poly is reflecting all that 112f radiant heat there isnt much of a gradient to the 77f from where the water is at! Its not boxershorts-in-the-shade-all-day hot yet, but I'm still excited that it's gonna all be fine..... even on those hot days nighttime has an awful chilly pull as well....

My dickhead neighbor has the day off and is fucking around in his backyard....

Hella, once I read this comment from you, I figured we were some kindred spirits for sure! I'm not that old, but I get grumpy from time to time especially when someone's inadvertent jerkin' off is keepin' me from doing something. As my dad would say "the nickel is holdin' up the dime" - in other words get the fuck outta my way so I can take care of some business.

Sour Diesel and Bubba Kush, eh? I've got some Sour Cream (Sour Diesel x G13 Haze) going in my backyard. I'm chompin' at the bit for them to show sex after nearly 80 days of veg! I'm layin' off the N though, so hopefully they'll slow down a bit to pop some netherparts. And, I've been back and forth with WhiskeyTango in a thread over in the Seedbay section - he has a Bubba Kush x Deep Chunk hybrid that sounds insane! Long story short - I'm real interested in watching your SD and BK.

I don't know jack about hydro. I spoke with a guy at a hydro nutes shop the other day, and he was trying to convince me it is easy as pie. I told him I didn't want to invest in an indoor setup since all of my "vegetables" are grown only outside. He said it could easily be done outside, with the exception of rainy areas which would serve to flush the system. It looks like your covered reservoir would undoubtedly take care of even that concern for the most part.

It sounds like from your rez temps that your ladies white legs will be thriving! And, dang if that intense sun coupled with the sweet temped hydro system won't make for the perfect bud storm! Continued good luck, my friend!

Ok, so it turns out, its too hot during the day and too cold at night.... I was kinda afraid of this, so I planned accordingly, but I was too concerned about the water temps...

The leaves too close to the plastic got fried [which heats up like crazy with the sun beating on it, essentially there roughly 2x amount of energy @ the plastic/air interface, because of its reflective capacity]

And the leaves on top are showing signs of radiant frost damage....

So I put up the shade cloth that I had got for just such an occasion [was hoping I wouldnt have to use it] Mebbe it will just be necessary as they are hardening off from their cushy indoor hydro lifestyle, we shall see.....
