How tall should my plants be before i cut them back? Am growing under a light. If i want a 4 ft plant do i cut them back at 2.5 ft for flowering? thanks

They will about double during flowering
indicas can and will stretch approx 2-3 times size when flowerng is induced
sativas can and do stretch 3-5 times size when flowering is induced
what type of lighting are you useing
bag seed or a strain name of strain
soil or hydro
keeping lighting as close as possible and the temps flucuation around 10 degree from night lights out and day lights on temps helps to reduce stretching. some will accure this is natural

im using a 400w hps. hydro flood system. space is 2.5ft deep by 3ft wide by 5ft from soil to light. strain is dutch passion power plant and white widow. also have skunk #1. all are fem. should i top them(2) or cram (4) plants?

you can top or supercrop them to slow them a bit. in addition, you could also use a MH bulb the first 3 weeks of flower then switch to hps bulb to finish. MH will hold down the stretch some the frst 3 weeks. they will double for sure and prob triple in height during flower. my white widow goes from 14" at start of veg to 48" or so without a scrog screen ( i scrog all my grows now regardless of strain).
