maui waui - nirvana?

Is Maui Waui the real deal at Nirvana? If someone wanted to get the most authentic Maui Waui that is. I did a search for it and I could only find Maui Waui at Nirvana and the rest is Maui Waui skunk.

Is there anyone else providing authentic Maui Waui?

Thanks guys.

If there is any indica in it I sure doubt it.

Probably good smoke though.

I think they crossed it with a skunk like most of their beans...F2 ripoffs but you can't beat the value, I have been lookn' at calli-o myself.

I heard that thats how most of "their" strains started: strain x skunk daddy (f2 cross) then they went on...who knows how they chose to breed from there. Nowadays I hear they have replaced the skunk with some purple strain.

at any rate anything from nirvana will prob. have some sort of skunk/other? in the mix. If you have the time try to isolate the MW phenos and see what you get. They say MW just dosent turn out the same when grown outside of the islands, who knows if thats true...

I always wanted to more about island strains my dad used to talk about how dank the herb he used to get. All sorts of cool plants out there waiting.

hell buy a few packs and YOU tell us how they are!

Back in the early 70s we were smoking weed that was brick and $10 per ounce. My buddy and I met a guy that had some and he said he paid $200 an ounce for it. We were thinking he was crazy. After one bong hit we were tripping. That as a good time.

Perhaps, I want to find out more about the genetics first.

I'm also in search of a very exotic Jamaican strain. I've had Marley's Collie which to date may be my favorite classic type smoke. Along with what I purchased as fiji landrace weed which I was later informed was Lamb's Bread.

Basically I want to find a very exotic/tropical sativa with hopefully traditional genetics. I haven't seen any Lamb's Bread ... the closest thing I've seen is Sharksbreath by DNA which is Great White Shark x Lamb's Bread

I have heard alot about the climate and environment of Hawaii and how the plants there do so well as a result of the soil and weather and such. I have been to the Islands several times and had the good fortune to smoke some of Hawaii's "sweeties" buds. Wow, great high and the weed was tasty and smooth, smoke a pinner doobie of that powerful stuff and it was enough to get me there and then some, smoke a bomber and you had better hang on to something:). Mahalo, and much Aloha. Cheers.

Thanks for the information.

I'm concerned more for the genetics offered than the ability to duplicate an authentic Maui Waui high.

There's usual claim that all those exotic island weeds just don't do as good anywhere else.

hey captain.koons if you want some jamaican lambs bread, Caribe from Cannabiogen is a backcross of Jamaica x Jamaica/NL5/Haze, haven tried it but CBG's stock i've tried is amazing.
i've read the same about island strains that don't do as well somwehere else...but that doesn't mean them wont turn out right and be special!

This comes from the man himself. Mau from Nirvana.

This comes from the man himself. Mau from Nirvana.

Last year I exchanged words with Mau, the breeder from Nirvana concerning this strain. I grew it last year and posted a few pics it here. Maui Waui from Nirvana is great, as a matter of fact I used some Maui Waui on my first cross. I crossed MW with some awesome Columbian weed. I have pictures of those as well in my 09 grow. Here is what the man himself from Nirvana says about his Maui Waui.

Mau said:
hello there

it s a long time ago that i got these hawaiian seeds from an old lady, who s family lived in hawaii for centuries and they had been growing this strain for ages, real respectfull people with love for their nature ,culture and THE PLANT!
i have been hybridizing the strain untill we found a perfect baby that would fullfill all the expectations from someone who love to get the taste of the real hawaiian ,and have a good yield as well!
good choice

ps,working on some new strains as well,
be prepared, will take some time though, you cannot force mother nature to grow and flower as fast as you wish.

All I can say about Maui Waui from Nirvana is that is very tasty, smells heavily like citrus, orangey like smell. Everyone that tried that strain loved it.

yeah anything from Nirvana is decent and cheap - although I would hold off using the boutique for right now, I haven't gotten a response in like 10 days now.

On a somewhat related note in terms of other strains I didn't know Gypsy Nirvana had, I saw in the Big Book of Buds2 that C99 was listed by Gypsy as an F2 which Mr.Soul of Bros.Grimm said was very much the same as the F1 in his experience. Sorry not trying to hi- jack as I wasn't aware he had maui wowie as well. How come I've never heard or seen of these?(C99 F2's) You can't beat bang for the buck with Gypsy Nirvana's gear IMO. So how come we don't see these on the bay or boutique?

Most growers I know in the islands get their beans from California, Canada or Europe. A true landrace Hawaiian, I thought that was just an urban myth, hell coconut trees are not native to Hawaii, believe it or not? They were brought by the Polynesians themselves. Possibly Canna seeds. Who knows 4 sure.

Hi there. Truth be told that most of the trees and vegetation on the islands had been brought by seafarers. When the plantation owners clearcutted the landscape for the sugar cane and such they forgot about the need for wind protection and had to import tress to plant for wind barriers to allow their crops some protection from the winds. It was funny for me the first time I went over there by the end of the trip I was actually missing the Northwinds that are cool and not just the wind over there that seems like a fan blowing warm air :) I would recommend a trip to the Islands like Maui in the town of Lahaina nice chill atmosphere with not alot of crowds like Oahu and Waikiki. Aloha
