Roots need oxygen. In a confined space, they'll eventually use it up. And the purpose of using dry fog is for maximum absorption. Otherwise you might as well use a pump and spray nozzles.

The roots are 80% above water the drops of water on the roots are probably from the bubbling of the fogger... and it really is just a few drops i'm sure it'll be fine.

benifits:
*No tubes, connectors, pumps, sprayers, timers, (airstones are optional if you ask me.)
*less water to haul around, also makes res changes totally simple and fast.
*less nutrients, so less $$.
*looks totally fuckin sweet every time you open the res.

i've read forum posts about people using a timer and a 1 min on 5 min off fog schedule, sounds fine and dandy but i don't really wanna go buy a timer.

FYI the fogger is .9 ampers

I don't have a fan yet but it sounds like a good investment.... unfortunatly i dont have room on my power strip for another brick dc adapter... any suggestions?

Use an adaptor that takes 1 strip outlet and turns it into 3. You can then plug 2 "wall warts" into it side by side. (pic of it)

The fan blowing into the rez as Cardoy pointed out will circ the fog much better and provides air into the root area.

A 3 or 5 head pond fogger produces much more fog as you have figured out. For 2 large grow trays (4'x4' ea) I used a fogger made by Frapaplas in Canada, works really great, but cost $629cdn....a bit above pond foggers.

With what you are doing, no timer is necessary. In fact it can run 24/7 and be fine.

I've got a 250 w HPS, and i highly recommend it after upgrading from a 70w HPS. You may want to look into HPS as its just generally preffered for all-around growing over CMH.

What are you usin now cfls?

Nothing,LOL,i still dreaming of my setup im afraid, look through my posts on this site, just questions and encouragement to others so far....no grow at the mo,so there you go. :)

I'm educating myself through this site,i've been advised to do a stealth, but that wouldn't work,my old ladys like frickin Columbo, and she'd know if something was up.
I've got good ideas, including some inspiration off yours,it'll be a while yet,but im getting the in's and outs OK i think.

Plants are lookin amazin, gave em a fresh batch of nutes now they look like a million bucks.

FYI the fogger speeds up evaporation, i've been addin a 2 liter + every day so i bet it raises humidity a bit. no big deal for me.

Growth is continuing out of the bottom of the netpot. more than before.

fog is the best in my opinion. will show ya some pics here soon i just need to get a camera.

I have experience with those nebulizers. They break all the time!! They also get rusted. At least in my experience.

Very interesting... u got a thermometer u can stick in the fog/water/roots? What's the temp like? Isn't putting a fan in the res a little dangerous? I mean electricity and moisture don't like each other. I'd like to see a grow with dry fog started from a seedling. Fog all the way......
