Autoflower Indoors. First time. Give input please!

I just bought 10 Royal Queen Royal Automatic autoflowering feminised. I think i have pretty good genetics. I am entering college next year and I have the entire month of July and August with my friends house open. We are going to dedicate a room to this project. He lives in a gated community so outdoors is a no no. The house is air conditioned and we live at approx 40 North. I am not a newbie to growing but I dont know much about indoors since outdoors has been my forte. I basically have a few easy questions. One is which light would be best and cheapest for this type of plant and situation. A simple link would be perfect. I know I am going to do a 20/4 light cycle. Also would the light keep my temperature where I want it? Or do i need something else? My basic plan is to keep this room dedicated to the weed with the light and around 10 pots with fox farm ocean forest, one plant per pot. Do I need anything else in terms of equipment? The link below is the seeds. Do the specs look accurate?

Doing the same with Russian Rocket Fuel autoflowers -- same potting soil even. Not sure my plan is terribly solid but I'll tell you what's working so far.

I have an existing rig with six T12s from a home building store that I'm using for sprouts, and after two weeks I intend to put them in 3 gallon pots under a 400W HPS on a 20/4 photoperiod with CO2 supplement. If you don't have a HID lamp and reflector available, I've heard that you can get away with a bank of T5s and do okay, but that's just a rumor until I see proof.

Not bothering with topping or any of that, the veg period is so short it wouldn't recover in time. I expect they'll show sex very fast, around 2-2.5 weeks.

The Ocean Forest soil should work through most of the plants' lives, but I'll gently work in supplements of FF nutes when the soil starts to get depleted.

I expect the above will work fine for an indoor autoflower grow, keeping in mind that these plants have a lot going on that they're programmed to have to do, so the less we fuck with them and introduce changes to their environment, the better.

Don't know much about auto-flowering plants, but I'd certainly say that sounds a bit optimistic!

Is that yield figure for a square meter under ideal conditions perhaps?

I'd certainly allow a total of at least 10-12 weeks for the project myself - best you get planting now! :)

your right 300-400 sounds a little unrealistic but hey i would be happy with even 100 per p. I have a few more questions after more research. One - is it essential to have asomething like a homebox or mini-grow thing or can i just have a regular white walled room that has one bed in it and a very tiny window that can easily be covered? Also will this light be sufficient for 10 autos? http://www.specialty-lights.com/4225.html . If not how many plants would that light cover. If its 8 or something I would just do that and throw 2 outside. That light is a 250 hps. Would i be better off with a 400? The room is probably around 12x12. If i just bought a bunch of occillating fans would that cover ventilation/cooling?

ok I came up with a plan that I think will work and I want to know if it sounds okay. I am going to tack up a few black curtains to "close off" an area of the room and make it however big or small I think will be appropriate. I am going to make the curtains so that they are facing the wall with the window and i am going to leave an area that will be open so that air can pass through pretty easily. The curtains will look like a square with a part of a side missing. I will use occillating fans to circulate air and hopefully the side of the curtains that is missing will give sufficient air exchange. Does this sound okay? I could always open up the tiny window and allow warm air to come in. It is going to be summer and it will be hot outside. I want to use the two 150 hps lights that are posted in the link above. The plants will be 10 autoflower so they will be smaller. If i have 10 3 gallon pots can the two lights cover that area sufficiently and give me some dope chronic? The house will be free of his parents on a week from today and I want to get this shit in order so it will be ready. Quick answers will be appreciated :joint:

That sounds like a solid start. I still have some reservations about the power of your lights. You'll have to have them pretty close to the plants, and you might look into reflective material for the walls.

Have you thought about where and how you're going to vent your air? It won't be long before those autos are giving off some serious aromas.

aroma is not an issue. I am a senior in high school going to college and the parents are away. Its in a kids basement in a side room that is going to be a closet or a guest room with a window in a very nice sized house. Its either that or a closet. I could put a towel in front of the door too. The basement will also be constantly being baked out so it will smell like marijuana regardless. :joint: . I am going to order the lights tomorrow are the two 150s a go or a no go? Its supposed to cover 10 autoflower plants that are going to reach about 2 ft off the ground. In terms of reflection i could do mirrors but i have heard that white walls are just fine and that the paint reflects over 80% and some over 90%. Also is Co2 neccessary?

2 150's should do the job. Same deal with with the white walls. IMO co2 is optional, ive never used it. I was gifted some LR crosses from a good friend and they turned out good. Lowryder X White Rhino

I actually got 7 feminized auto afghan kush. I am super happy! It sounds delicious and there are plenty of threads all over to read about. I live in the Northeast of the US and I ordered from Dr. Chronic which is in london. How long shud i expect it to take. Is wednsday realistic

yikes. after reading some threads on this site from a few months ago it seems like the afghan kush ryder isnt really an auto and wasn't showing any signs of flowering from 3 weeks. Can someone pick out a good auto flower from this page http://www.drchronic.com/products.asp?category=Auto+Flower+Feminised I have a time frame of about 8 weeks indoors and the rest will have to be outside. It will be september northeast climate so it would just flower in the shade probably. Thanks and promptness is really appreciated I want it ordered tonight because i want it here by wedsday or as early as possible. This should be fun its picking out a strain for a buddy. :joint:

ok. I decided to go with a lowryder #2 strain and I got 8 from attitude. After reading threads about afghan kush I was afraid that I would end up with a regular indica and the lowryder 2 seems to be like a pretty reliable potent strain that could possibly finish in under 60 days based on what i have read. Attitude seeds also gave me a free dinafem blue hash, dinafem white widow, and dinafem roadrunner which is an autoflower also. Pretty sweet. I ordered it today it will probably be processed tomorrow (Friday). Can someone give me an estimate based on their experience with attitude when it will come. i am in the northeast U.S.
I also have a quick question. For the grow room i am making out of curtains in a room what color would be best to use? is there a better material that i could use than curtains or bedsheets that would be easy on a budget. I was thinking if i tacked up a wall from the sealing with one white bedsheet, and then another right behind it, and then i did the same thing on the other sides to make the square it would be two layers of a white bedsheet that would be pretty reflective and not allow light penetration because it would be two layers. Is that dece?

Yo can someone give some more input. I am making an enclosure in a room by tacking something such as bedsheets or a curtain to the ceiling and making a square with a side missing to make a mini room with a piece missing for circulation through the whole room. What would be the best material to use with good reflection? Is a simple white sheet good or will light penetrate?

light WILL penetrate a sheet lol, you could try emergency mylar sheets (camping section of kmart, etc) and then back it with a few layers of black plastic. However realisticly if you want any form of stealth growing in a open room, is kind of a crappy idea.

This house sounds like it gets raged from time to time, so you'll want to put a lock on the door, btw people can tell the diference between smoked/freshgrowing pot...............................think about the risks before getting TOO excited.

Not to say you shouldent grow some herb, just do it smart.

Attitude is fast, now sure what shipping option you went with but I'm usually smiling in 7 biz days when dealing with them... and not to ruffle the bay lovers feathers, but I think it's the best bank out there right now. I was going to post some love for them in a recent "Best Seedbank Thread" but found it was closed after about 10 I love the bay posts. I understand that's what supports this site, but stifling opinions directly related to what we do seems a little hypocritical. SB needs to jump on the "Pick and Mix" bandwagon soon, with feminized seeds it's the way to go and probably the only way I'm coming back to them. Attitude also carry KC's gear, IMO they are the best budget seeds around. Sorry, that turned into a mini rant on your thread here.

no problem with the rant. So far my experience with attitude has been very positive. The order shipped less than 12 hours after placing it. and zappa - the house will probably have some small parties, but we are locking the door 24 hours unless we go in. and we will probably put a towel in front of the door, plus an open window to help circulate air. Hopefully that is enough. And another great thing is that from july 11-17 my friend is out of the house and again from july 28-august 17th. so i have alot of time of just me and plants and an empty house :joint:. Is mylar expensive? any other alternatives?
