what was the PH of water being given to plants

dolemite lime i dont use for soiless mix i would run PH 5.8 i ran coco for 3 runs.
had n/p kept my waters PH @5.8 i never worried about runoff i just made sure water being fed to plants was PH'd @5.8. carefull about R/O and store bought water you'll need calmag+ if you use it my tap water is 600-800PPM i dont need calmag+

the ph of the store bought water is 6 and I plan on using this only for the seedling stage. my mix is primarily peat moss i found coco pellets locally so i got them for germin and cloning but they fell apart when hydrated so i just used coco the top inch of the little pot. My main mixture is going to be sumthing like 50% peat moss 35 % vermaculite and 15% perlite and some dolemite lime to the mix. In home made earth boxes using lucas formula with tap water. Im leaving for two months so i need to have it set up so my girlfriend can transplant once then add nute water a couple times that is all preset for her.

So I am asking if Is it ok for the germing andseedling stage to use a peat moss based medium that comes out at 5.5 ph for the first few weeks?

I would assume so, check the package see if its seedling safe.

If you cant get an answer, let us know on your experiment :)

hey thanks a lot maj.

I decided to fish out the seeds and use the paper towel method and just remix my soiless mixture using 1 cup of dolemite lime per cubic foot which is about 28 liters.

When using peat moss based growing mediums such as pro mix it is often recomended to add 1 cup dolemite lime per cubic foot, as a ph buffer, for gardening in general, that goes for all acidic soils too. Dolemitic or Dolemite lime also adds magnesium to soils.

I also decided to add a small amount of h2o2 to my water for the seedling stage to make sure all is sterile.

I think it would have been fine... but I am worrying less now and peace of mind is priceless.

thanks :)
