Any buttom feeders here?

Coco is the shizznit but it can become a hassle to hand water a bunch of plants on a daily basis. Wanted to know if anyone has button feed there coco plants and if there are any tips or things one should look out for?

I was thinking lets say one plant in a 3gallon pot takes about 1.5 liters of water having 10 plants in a tray and just make a 15liter batch of nute mix and pouring it all in the tray. Should one add more water then they usually would when doing it this way? When a flush i needed just hand water from the top? Not trying to do a drip or ebb n flow set up just trying to see if there is a easier way.

I bottom fed for my handwatered plants and it worked the same. Be sure to flush every 3 waterings or so. You could probably go more but I didn't want to push it. I sat them in about 4" of nute mix for 15-20 minutes and it worked just fine.

The time you let them sit is more flexible than that, but that's all it takes for them to be saturated, atleast in 1 gallon pots. I accidentally left a mother in nute solution for 8+ hours once and she was just fine. :woohoo:

When I feed my compost tea to them, I usually set them in a tray and the tea that runs through too quickly gets a chance to wick back up into the medium. The combo works very well.

The more you keep moving your plants the more you are going to stress them. Also you will get coco that will fall into the tub when you keep dipping your plants in them. The key is to try and not move your plants that much, the more you move them the more stress is caused. Think of it this way, a plant that grows outdoor never moves from its spot ever. I think im just gonna do a manual ebb n flow set up.

I strongly recommend creating an ebb and flow setup. Put a little bit of work and money into your first grow an you can automate your ebb and flow. It's worth it. Have a large reservoir to prevent excessive swings.

ebb n flow is the way twisted metal
flood 3x per lights on, 15 min per flood

:yeahthats

Listen to Greyskull guys, he knows his shit. But an ebb and flow setup is the most productive growth I've seen in coco.

Grey, u don't have any issues running ur plants in a ebb n flood setup? I'm asking more towards nutes as most recommend u don't recirculate in coco...

What size table u use and what size Rez, also how's the upkeep?

Thanks n sorry if I'm jacking da thread lol

sounds promising enough to try, my tables can easily be converted for flood n drain setup :joint:

hows the upkeep? how often do you need to make a new rez etc.. also have you had a complete run with the flood method?

thanks for the response homie

well with the 40g rez on the 4x4 I am topping off 5g about every other day, and as long as the ph is between 5.6-6.3 i don't adjust.

when i started I was changing my rezies every 7 days religiously. i have backed off to 10-12 days... which is basically when i have added back 50% volume's worth (of a 40g rez that would be 20) its time to make a change.

i've done e&F with coco for a good while and am fairly confident in its capabilities. I have set up 2 patients with the exact same set up & nute schedule, and they are getting good results, too.

I use E&F with coco (chips) and I Love it! After reading Dongle69's thread, I'm not doing any res changes.

I also don't mix anything into the coco chips, just straight out of the package.
I use Pura Vida organics (medium and nutes are all OMRI-listed.)
Reservoirs are automagically topped off daily
I'm on the third week of flower now, and my upkeep is about an hour a week. Crazy simple, I'm recommending this to everyone who will listen (and I've used LOTS of different systems over the years.) Links in sig...
