What's new

do ebb n flow buckets have to be light proof?

I thought the answer to this was yes, they must be black.... but i am starting to doubt myself and couldn't find where that idea got in my head.

I can't find the proper color buckets in town, so i was hoping i could go with the home depot orange. Should be easy to answer.

If not i may have to aluminum tape it all which would be a PITA and expensive.

Thanks so much

i'm using the Rubbermaid Roughneck 40gal red-ish colored tub as my res, and I don't have any issues...I do have it sitting under my platform...so it technically is away from the light...but if you have it out in the open, I would just make sure you have a lid on it so there isn't light shining right into the water.
