Green Crack - too late to transfer to new pot??

My Green Crack clone is almost 4 weeks into flowering and im getting worried that she is growing too big for her 1.5 gallon pot. i think i even see a tiny root coming out of the bottom of the pot. is it too late in her cycle to transfer to a new pot? would i risk killing her if i don't transfer properly? would giving her Super Thrive ensure a healthy transfer so that i can protect her roots?

Thanks for your help! Tox

if you feel it needs new soil just get a larger pot remove that one carefully and transplant it will more then likely love you for it !!!

looks to me like you mean 4 weeks after inducing flowering, not 4weeks into flower, since i see no bud on it. yes you can transplant it to a bigger pot and it will grow bigger buds if you do. get it done :)

4 wks after i induce flower i have large buds from clone and nice from seed plants
Tox are you flowering outside or indoors honestly speaking ive flowered in 1 gal bag for 4 months vegged for 5wks plant wasnt rootbound.

Green crack is 45-60 days strain you can transplant but i follow this golden rule

Rootmass=Yield

currently you have a nice rootmass in the current container
if you transplant now during flower. the plant wont colinize the soil with enough roots to make a diff in yield

1 gal grow bags vegged in them 2wks flowered 50 days
i start in small containers and trasnplant upto final for flower
start in 3x3x3 inch flower squares
then TP 2 liter soda bottels then final 1 gal bags to flower in

imo if your worried about stressing the plant with moving it out its container..might i suggest removing 1/3 of the container(cutting the bottem off) you can then set the root ball with the remiaing container in a larger space like a 3gal bucket or larger i'd say fill up the new pot about 1/2way before adding the plant to it then just fill in the gaps around the side depending on your pot placement you'll get quiite a bit extra space.....peace az

maj pot head nice yeilds for 1gal. lanky plants though, i think you were pushing 1gal to its limit.
lol lanky maybe but i trim everything on the bottom 1/3rd of the plant the above pic your lookn at 9oz dried from 11 plants in 1 gal bags under 2 400w lights and 83-85 degree temps. FFOF soil was that run PBP ferts flower erea is approx 10 sqft

3 gal square trashcan DrQ's organic filthy ruch soil and PBP ferts norcal goo x deep chunk in pic is 45 days 12/12
with my sugar shack i average 1/2 - 3/4 oz dried from 2 liter soda bottle same for my decapation pre98 bubba pheno :)

hey major, i cant believe how tall your trees grew in the 1 gal bags, very impressive. yes im growing outside and she doesnt get a full 12 hours of direct sunlight so i think it's slowing her growth. my girl looks very bushy and i think i see a root growing out of the bottom, which makes me think that she's outgrowing her pot.

i heard something interesting today - if you transplant from 1 pot to another you should sever the roots if they are wrapping around the inside of the pot. this will help eliminate the bad roots that were circling. anyone ever heard this before?

nice plant in that pic maj. very nice lol

tox004, yes you can do that to the roots, BUT it s better to just loosen all roots at the bottom and sides of the root ball with your hands and try not to break them or sever or rip them.

so i transferred my girl from the 1.5 gal to a 5 gal pot. when i took her out, she was definately root bound - roots circling around the pot. i filled the new pot with 4" of fox farm soil and gave her b vitamins to lessen the shock of moving pots. hopefully this wasnt too tramatic for her - only time will tell!

thanks to all for your help

I once found myself in nearly the same sitch. Transplanted from a very rootbound 1gal into a large growbag, but a little earlier than you.
When I harvested, I checked the roots and, like the Major said, I found they still looked like the same 1-gallon ball of roots. Perhaps loosening and pruning the gnarled mass may have helped.
