Just got trainwreck. Smells like ammonia or bleach really bad. I vapped it anyway and it tasted fruity and strong. Is this trainwreck? did the grower put pinesol or something in the air to kill the smell?

if damp weed is not properly cured it will start to smell like ammonia. Maybe this is what happened? I never had TW but i dont think its supposed to smell like bleech

Some of my friends call it Mango Tango.
Has a massive citrus type smell aroma.
The buds are usually smallish.
Hardly ever will you see "GIANT" TW nugs.
Ive smoked the "Wreck" ever since early 2000's.
Smoked TW from Nor Kali and South Kali.
North Kali is the shit when it comes to Trainwreck.

It tastes like Green Mangoes, the unripe version.
Not the yellow sweet mangoes.
Its bomb diggity dog.

Peace and positive vibes.:joint:

Side note:
Big shout to all my pinoy brothers and sisters.
Mungung hilaw = Unripe Mango
This is what my peoples have told me and it sticks.
I translated that into Thai and I like the Pinoy version better.

Hell yeah I actually got this in right now. Gotta love this shit. You could have trainwreck but that smell is from not fully dried nugs. They all get that same smell regardless of strain. Trainwreck should smell like citrus pinesol or some kind of citrus household cleaner. Love this strain, very potent, lasting high. I'm wrecked right now actually. Peace!

Trainwreck smells exactly like pinesol to me. Big favorite of mine. Heavy eyes, tingly body stone, and that hazy sativa rush are what the high is like. Trainwreck also has very very tiny (circumference) stems and a distinctive leaf shape. If yours fits that bill it is most likely trainwreck.

Lots of stuff tastes/smells like lemons and diesel though. Could also be Sour Diesel, OG Kush, lemon thai, mexican sativa, lemon skunk, lemon haze, etc. the list goes on a while.

Trainwreck smells like mentholated--lemon/pine/spice with an acrid full undertone. The undertone is kind of rotten/sweet but not sweet to the point where the overtone is elimated, it still has that menthol'd spice bite to the rotten/sweet undertone (more just an acrid smell like weird milk than a rotten/sweet)

Some people say it's a "mentholated whale carcass". I think they're close. But people usually forget the lemon/spice when describing it.

Great smell. Pungent, but it doesn't carry. I would keep it sealed anyway, heh.

The first time my girlfriend smelled tw she was like "tunafish!" and I said that's the dead whale you're smelling. It's some seriously funky stuff.

I'd be careful with weed that smells strongly of ammonia (unless it's something like catpiss that's supposed to smell that way) because that usually indicates it molded while drying.

I run the E32 cut in my garden, picked in up in San Fran a few years ago. There's a definite rotting meat component in the E32 Wreck, almost like a cured salami. There's the astringent pine that several peeps have mentioned. It's kind of a cleanser/chemmy artificial note, like some sort of "Mountain Fresh" scent. There's a heavy citric/lemon note. Then there's the petroleum component, like gasoline or kerosene. It has an extremely complex bouquet. Right on the edge of putrid, but totally beautiful. I love Trainwreck. I plan on introducing her to a particularly studly-looking pure Yunnan male within the next few weeks to see how well they play together.

A local dispensary had a batch of Trainwreck dry sift last summer that was absolutely stunning - it was like dusty, flaky golden rubber, and the lemon/pine cleanser aromas were so concentrated and would sting the nose on exhale in the most pleasant way.

word i love bomb wreck but im startin to think people throw names around pretty casually.. ie. northern lights, og kush, wreck, blueberry... unless its comin from the grower or the club i call em piney or lemony or fruit loopy... what im tryin to say is not all wreck (or any strain for that matter) is the same. so many variables to consider.. even if two seeds came off the same plant it doesnt make them genetically identical. not only that but theres environmental variable (nutes, temps, lighting... )

but on that piney lemon note, you gotta get on some prime og cuts. favorite aromatic strain hands down
