What's new

EZ-Cloner 30 or 60 is this a good cloning machine?

Blowstrees- what you got going on over there? how long they been in there?

question for people who have the ezcloner. do you need a dome? does it come with one? everytime i take a clone without a dome they wilt. im cloning in rockwool cubes too.

Greyskull

no domes
all the rh is under the lid where the roots are forming and the water spraying

the powerclone form botanicare comes with a dome....

the clones stay perky in the ez - very little visible shock imo.
some folks are VEGGING FOR 30 DAYS in their EZs in fact. crazy but true.

so with the EZ i dont need a dome and my clones wont fall over because the rh under the lid? im not tryin to be a dick im just tryin to learn but shouldnt this be the same with clones in a rockwool cube since the root area is a wet rockwool? im interested because the EZ looks alot easier than a bunch of soaked rockwool cubes and domes and trays. thanks greyskull

Technically speaking if you kept the rw cubes moist the whole time the clones shouldnt slump at all.

you;re not being a dick lol
i promise NO DOME
i don't even spritz my cuts while they are in the ez (you can and i am probably 'lazy')
i cut em, dip em, stick em, set it and forget. check it 5-7 days to see roots, 7-10 to see a lot of roots. i like to transplant when the clone is beeming with roots so it 'takes' to its new home quickly (i like clear 9 & 16oz cups for transplant LOVE SEEING THE ROOT DEVELOPEMENT).

of course some strains will clone easier than others... OG (hells angles & LArry) took me 3+ weeks to root while Bubba, SDxSB, were pumped out in 5-7.

just curious. have you done it? the whole clone not slumping thing. i keep my rockwool moist but it still slumps if i dont put a dome over it.

preciate it greyskull. only reason why i ask is because taking clones suck for me. i put 72 under a dome and in rockwool. so sometimes when im being picky about clones by the time i get to 70 71 72 the very first clone i took which was 30mins ago is slumped over and i can never get them few that slump to com back. i think im going to try the 120. any good sites to order from?

Blowstress that's very nice man......kinda what I'm leaning toward....very nice job

Greyskull and Smalltome.....yea thats what I heard from somebody else that the EZ Cloner doesn't need a dome.....I really like the EZ Cloner it seems like a good machine....blowstress has a nice setup I like that alot.

Chubbynugs.....thats I great idea to keep the water temp right.....my growroom stays pretty cool in the fall/winter and I don't grow in the summer so I should be able to control the temp.....like you said just add some cooler water if it starts getting to hot

Thanks everybody for all the info/pics/advice/help about a cloning machine or the EZ Cloner......I've saw a few other clone machines but I'm not sure if I like them better than the EZ Cloner.....I also like revrev313's clone machine....it looks nice also....I'd also like to hear more about the 30 EZ Cloner site if any guys are using them......are they working good for you?

nothin for the economically challenged?

I think DJscot.Free has a plan/layout to make a homemade clone machine.....he posted about it on the first page......you could probably PM him and get the plans/directions for the homemade clone machine.....I'm not really interested in making a homemade clone machine because I can't build anything....yea the EZ Cloners are pricey but I'm not really concerned because if they work good I'll be more than happy and the price will be forgot all about when you harvest some nice buds......I usually like to buy good products because I take good care of them and try to make them last as long as possible

i have never seen a cloner like that. i don't go to hydro shops either... there are two flower shops around that rarely carry coco.
i would personally build a cloner over a store bought one. it seems that it would be easier to tailor fit a home made cloner to the grow area. store bought is kinda one size fits all. both homemade and store bought will have the same outcome as long as you don't make too many mistakes. take this for what it is. coco works well in my book.

No cost isn't a issue....I just want the best clone machine I can get.......

If cost is no issue and you want the best then go to WalMart with a $10 bill. Ez cloners are infamous for immediate catastrophic failure. One day they work and then ... they just stop.

why do folks have beef with people who HAVE money to spend and how they want to spend it? GET OVER YOURSELVES. DIY means you need DIY abilities, or time, or both. and if something breaks, you have to DIY to fix it... off the shelf is a.o.k.

and dude said already he was not gonna go the DIY route. c'mon folks. learn to read.

i have a groclone... would have been happy wiht it until i tried the ezclone.
tried to do a side by side between the 2 but i keep losing ALL my cuts in the groclone...
while the ezclone, roots away.

THEORETCIALLY its supposed to be fine.
real world results tell me otherwise...

I have no beef. He asked for the best when price is no object and an EZ Cloner is not the answer. Ez Cloners are known the world over for immediate catastrophic failure. In good conscience I have to recommend against them.

In my opinion, The EZcloner works well for certain strains. The key (moreso than water temps, mine can run sometimes as hot as 88 degrees) is cleanliness. Make sure between uses, you run a HOT water and bleach/H2O2 bath for an hour. I actually run a hot water/bleach bath twice (run it, drain the water out, rerun it again). If you choose to reuse the neoprene inserts, take a tooth brush and scrub between the inserts since the roots will grow right through them (i'm also testing out the suretogrow inserts). Lastly, I would keep the water temps around 78-80 degrees for the water.

After that, take out the misters and wash them hot water/bleach and a separate container.

Make sure the unit is dry. Try to drain out all the water in the pump and the manifold and the unit is ready to go.

With certain strains, i see approximately 85% root ratio, with nubs coming in 5 days. With kush strains, I see 15% success ratio, but i've been told it's because of the lack of humidity.

I'll be picking up a power clone unit just for the kush strains to see if it works any better.

If you're a small grower, cloning by hand is probably the easiest/cheapest. But for the commercial guys, nothing comes close to EZ cloners for cloning on a mass scale.

ez clone , power clone , gro clone whatevea clone, all these machines have a serious learning curve. i my self have a DIY bubble cloner and for me, it works fine. the most important thing is be diligent in your research and dial in to your specific garden parameters and you will soon clone with ease as many of us do after several catastrophes with cloning mediums.

I'm going to wal-mart and I hope they got a nice cloner for $10(are they in the garden section lol).......sorry guys but like I said in the first post I can't build hardly anything and I'm not really interested in making one(please understand)........I got a guy I buy all my ballast and lights/hoods/bulbs from that has alot of different cloners and he gives me a good deal.......Thanks to all the guys that have clone machines and all your help and info.....I figured by the time I try to make a clone machine and screw it up several times.....I could just go buy a EZ Cloner or some other type of store bought clone machine.......I don't really think $250-$300 plus for a 60 site EZ Cloner is all that bad......like Greyskull said he used his for 5 years.....and whatever I get will be taken very good care of. I'm not knocking homemade clone machines......they might be better than store bought machines.......I'm just not a builder sorry

Anybody else got a EZ-Cloner 30 or 60.....or any other clone machines I'd really appeciate to hear about them or see pics.......thanks to everybody who's trying to help me decide on a Clone machine......I'm not rich by any means or trying to affend anyone because I'm wanting a store bought clone machine over A DIY cloner......if you guys saw some of the things I've built over the years you wouldn't even suggest a DIY LOL LOL LOL LOL.......I would spend $500 trying to built a DIY cloner......I'd have a cluster fuck.....the wife would probably leave me because I'd be bitching and throwing shit everywere.....she hates when I try to built shit lol....this is kinda why I just said F-it and decided to buy a cloner. Thanks guys

ez cloners don't guarantee any kind of success, they are the anti-success for me xD

Good advice......I'm a experinced grower.....I used to take clones a few years back...I stopped cloning because of space issues....but now I got alot of space and really want a good cloner to speed the cloning process.......I'm sure it will take a few times to learn how to properly use a clone machine......VERY good info thank you......I read alot of post and forums and hear alot of things thats happend bad or good with cloning machine........I try to take in as much info as I can......as this helps with trails and errors.........I've grew for 15-20 + years and still try to learn as much as I can.....growing is a practice that can take years to get right.....Thanks all you guys
